SOME NOTES
Incredible to think that Southampton are ranked as the number 1 defensive team. However the stats definitely back it up. Unfortunately they are expensive and up against a wounded Man City in GW9. With Bertrand injured there is some short term value at LB but whether thats wasted for FPL mid McQueen or great value Targett at £4.4m remains to be seen
Alonso the Chelsea LB if he can keep a place looks an option for Chelsea
There is some value at Palace in the LB position but it’s complicated in the battle between £4.4m Kelly and £4.5m Fryers
Arsenal v Swansea were a huge disappointment even before the mindless sending off of Xhaka. Ironically Coquelin coming back into the team should help things defensively but Arsenal have alot to prove. No clean sheet against Middlesboro though would be a huge disappointment.
For WBA Evans is the value at £4.5m but is suspended until GW10.
It’s mad to think that Bournemouth of all teams have an array of attacking defensive options in RB Smith at £4.7m, CB Cook at £4.9m and LB Daniels at £4.9m who also has pens.
For West Ham Cresswell is now suspended but is an excellent attacking option at £5.3m
