fantasy premier league tips – the early GW15 bandwagons and sinking ships

The Bandwagons

These are the 5 most transferred in players so far in the gameweek

Barkley £7.1m mid (13 games 6 goals 5 assists) FPL point  14.6 mins. 6/14  43% consistency % of games that a goal or assist is returned)

A goal and an assist plus 3 bonus points makes it 3 goals and 2 assists in the last 2 games after a very slow start of 1 goal and 2 assists in the 10 before that.  So while his returns are good his consistency lacks something.  Does have the benefit of a CAM position and very good fixtures to follow though and the confidence form gives you.  Shots in the box stats are poor as is his creating chances stats but does have ok shots on target stats which have a good correlation to goals.  A good 90 minute player as well only being subbed once in the first 14 games

Crystal Palace (H)
Norwich (A)
Leicester (H)
Newcastle (A)
Stoke (H)
Spurs (H)

Ozil £9.3m mid (12 games 2 goals 11 assists) FPL point 12.4 mins. 10/14  71% consistency % of games that a goal or assist is returned) has some set piece responsibility

Mr consistency continues with his goal and maximum bonus haul against Norwich.  That means he’s returned in the last 8 games consecutively.  Doesn’t have much in the way of shooting stats but does have the best creating chances stats of any midfielder plus the advantage of the CAM position and the chances that gives you.  Has very good fixtures to come too.  Also completed 90 minutes now in the last 5 games.

Sunderland (H)
Aston Villa (A)
Man City (H)
Southampton (A)
Bournemouth (H)
Newcastle (H)

De Bruyne £10.7m mid (10 games 4 goals 6 assists) FPL point 12.0 mins. 6/10  60% consistency % of games that a goal or assist is returned) has some set piece responsibility

After 1 assist in the 4 games before the weekend he returned to form with 1 goal and 2 assists in the match against Southampton.  A very consistent returner who has a proven assist record in Europe.  Only Ozil and Payet have a better creating chances record although like those 2 he has little in the way of shooting stats.  A couple of tricky fixtures ahead and the return of Silva to create uncertainty are the negatives

Stoke (A)
Swansea (H)
Arsenal (A)
Sunderland (H)
Leicester (A)
Watford (A)

Alderweireld  £5.5m def Spurs  5 clean sheets 11 goals conceded FPL points every 18.8 mins.  (2 goals 1 assist)

It’s 1 clean sheet in the last 5 which doesn’t represent the improvement in the Spurs defence which was shown again in the 0-0 draw with Chelsea.  With Vertonghen though he is the most expensive of the Spurs defence but he does have some of the best attacking stats of any CB in the premier league. Reasonably good fixtures ahead

West Brom (A)
Newcastle (H)
Southampton (A)
Norwich (H)
Watford (A)
Everton (A)

Ighalo £5.8m fwd (14 games 8 goals 4 assists) FPL point 13.3 mins. 8/14  57% consistency % of games that a goal or assist is returned)

A goal and an assist and a 12 point haul continues the form of the Watford striker in his outstanding start of the season which have seen fantastic returns and consistency.  This start is no fluke as he has great shooting and creating chances stats.  The fixtures after the next 2 though aren’t easy and even the next 2 have tightened up recently

Norwich (H)
Sunderland (A)
Liverpool (H)
Chelsea (A)
Spurs (H)
Man City (H)

The Sinking Ships

These are the 5 most transferred out players so far in the gameweek

Sanchez £11.3m mid (14 games 6 goals 2 assists) FPL point 14.5 mins. 5/14  36% consistency % of games that a goal or assist is returned)

The Arsenal midfielder stayed in FPL managers teams despite no returns in 4 games before the assist at Norwich last weekend mainly due to his potential explosiveness and the fixtures.  To be fair he does have excellent shooting stats and a double figure haul is possible every time he steps on the field. However he has a hamstring injury with some reports saying he is out for 3 weeks.  Those returns and that price plus those reports are always going to trigger a wave of selling

Sunderland (H)
Aston Villa (A)
Man City (H)
Southampton (A)
Bournemouth (H)
Newcastle (H)

Kompany  £6.3m def Man City  7 clean sheets 14 goals conceded FPL points every 12.4 mins.  (2 goals 0 assist)

Incredible return figures for a defender shows how crucial he is.  In 7 out of 8 games he’s played Man City have got a clean sheet.  In 6 games without him they haven’t got a clean sheet and conceded 4 goals twice.  Unfortunately out for another 2 weeks although the calf injury just seems to continue and it’s hard to have any confidence about a return date.

Stoke (A)
Swansea (H)
Arsenal (A)
Sunderland (H)
Leicester (A)
Watford (A)

Joe Hart  £5.6m GK Man City  7 clean sheets 14 goals conceded FPL points every 12.4 mins.

Out for a couple of weeks with a hamstring injury.  £4.8m Caballero is the short term replacement although unless the hamstring injury takes longer it doesn’t seem a worthwhile replacement.  Another option will be to leave him in and put the current no 1 Hennessey of C Palace in the team.

Stoke (A)
Swansea (H)
Arsenal (A)
Sunderland (H)
Leicester (A)
Watford (A)

Payet

Out until the 27th Feb.  The replacement CAM seems to be £5.3m midfielder Lanzini.  Tricky fixtures

Man Utd (A)
Stoke (H)
Swansea (A)
Aston Villa (A)
Southampton (H)
Liverpool (H)

Mata £8.7m mid (14 games 4 goals 3 assists) FPL point 15.9 mins. 6/14  43% consistency % of games that a goal or assist is returned) Some set piece responsibility

1 goal in the last 7 in a team criticised for a lack of attacking intent is always going to get you sold even with the excellent fixtures coming.  Only finishing 90 minutes twice in the last 7 won’t help the situation either.  There’s also little in the way of shooting or creating chances stats to give you confidence the situation will improve

West Ham (H)
Bournemouth (A)
Norwich (H)
Stoke (A)
Chelsea (H)
Swansea (H)
