Fantasy premier league captain tips – the flat track bullys and their captain potential

Fantasy Premier League

The captain choice this season is going to be crucial.  In this article we focus on 8 attacking players who scored the most per game against the bottom 7 sides.  We  also look at their consistency of returns  and their 10 point or more % using all 3 as a recipe for captain potential.  Suarez was the king but alas he’s now gone and captain choice will be fundamental

Fantasy premier league captain tips – the flat track bullys and their captain potential

For those of you reading unfamiliar with cricket a flat track bully is a term to decribe batsmen who only score well against teams when playing on easy pitches.  Were using this term to identify those who score well against the lower ranked  teams (the end of season bottom 7) but were also going to add in their consistency % (ie the % of games that they returned a goal or assist) as that factor is something else you want to consider.  A third factor of the % of 10 points plus scores shows how often they get the big hauls.  Another attractive captain feature

Here’s the key:

Bottom 7 PPG:  The points per game against the end of season bottom 7 home and away.

Consistency %:  the % of games that the player has returned either a goal or assist

10+ %:  the percentage of games that the player returned 10 or plus 10 points

PlayerBottom 7 PPG Consistency % 10 + Points %

YYT

The highest points per game against the bottom 7.  3rd ranked in consistency and 4th ranked in 10+ points percentage.  A good all round captain option.  Will have pens when Aguero off the field.  The question is can he repeat it.

Sturridge

The most consistent performer  and 2nd in PPG against the bottom 7.  Low 10+ % though.  The safe option on these figures.  Considering no pens or set pieces it’s phenomenel consistency.   Returns were very good at the beginning of the season when Suarez was suspended.  Will have more games to contend with as Liverpool are in the Champions league and surely will do better in the Cups.

Aguero

The man who can score against anyone.  His consistency is articfically low because of the number of sub appearances and injury interruptions.  Has the potential to be explosive and consistent.  It’s just can he stay fit and stay on the pitch for anything like 90 minutes.  Will have pens .  A class act its just fitness.

Hazard

The lowest equal in consistency but a good record against the bottom 7 in PPG.  You captain Hazard at your own risk.  Should have pens this season.

Rooney

Returns would have been better if it wasn’t for the ridiculous drop into midfield that Moyes used to do.  A good all round performer 5th in PPG, 4th in consistency but the highest 10+ %.  Was helped by playing the most forward striker and having pens during RVPs injury spells.  LVG saying he prefers him as a number 9 or 10 is very helpful.

Ramsey

Quite a good all round record considering his position as a box to box midfielder.  Sold figures in all stats.  Arsenal tend to share the goals and bonus points though.  Only question is will a Sanchez and Walcott (when fit) infused team fundamentaaly change Arsenals scoring profile.  Ramsey is lethal on the break so it could help but it is an unknown

Giroud

Reasonable consistency and probably better if you isolate home performances.  Not a consistent big returner though.  Same issues as Ramsey above.  Could become a back to goal provider rather than finisher.

What does this mean?

The most explosive captain option?

YYT if he can keep it up this season (1st PPG, 4th Consist %, 4th in 10+ %)

Aguero if he can stay fit  (3rd PPG, 2nd consist %, 2nd 10+%)

The safe pair of hands

Sturridge (2nd PPG, 1st consist %, 7th 10+)
