We look again at a selection of fantasy relevant players who blanked on Saturday GW17 to see how they performed in their respective matches by delving into their basic and underlying stats.  I’ve made it easier to view by sticking them all in my basic stats table and beefed the article up and included some commentary and next fixtures

As yet I’ve yet to review the fixtures and underlying stats this isn’t filled in the table as yet.  Remember players aren’t ranked in order it’s just in FPL game order in the main.  There’s a key below if you’re unsure what everything means and then comments on their game and the next 6 fixtures

Key:

Minute per FPL points:  This is how many minutes it took to get an FPL point.  The lower the better

Consistency:  the % of games that a player returned a goal or assist. Sub appearances are counted

10+ point %:  The % of games 10 FPL points or more are scored

Fixt ease:  The ease of attacking fixtures coming up.  Next 6/next 3

Deulofeu v Leicester H

For someone who’s been so consistent it was a very quiet game considering the amount of goals on show.  No shot threat and virtually no chances created despite being very involved while on the pitch for 74 mins

Mata v Norwich H

5 games with no goal or assist.  Started centrally but evenrually moved wide.  Little shot threat although did create chances and was very involved.  1 great long pass for Smalling to head wide near the end was the only highlight

Mane  v Spurs H

1 assist in the last 7.  How can he go on like this and not score though?  2 great chances to score early on in the game and played pretty much as a 2nd striker.  Best shots stats in the game and also very involved.

Pelle v Spurs H

Continues to play the full 90 and the shot stats weren’t too bad but no clear cut chances and 1 goal in the last 8 says it all.

Eriksen v Southampton A

Played 86 minutes.  Created a good amount of chances including a good chance for Kane early on.  Very involved including set pieces.

Arnautovic v C Palace H

Good shooting and creating chances stats for the game although with Shaqiri in the team set piece involvement diminished.  Had one good deflected shot which went close.

Bolasie v Stoke A

Played the full 90.  Good shot and creating chances stats.  Had a one on one with Butland and should have scored.  Very advanced and most involved Palace player

Wijnaldum v A Villa H

Statistically didn’t have that much threat but crossed for De Jong who missed a sitter and had one great chance close in from a Perez cross.
