Juan Cuadrado Fiorentina to Chelsea

Cuadrado is a 26 year old right winger Colombian International

Serie A 14/15 – 17 games 6 goals and 3 assists (goal or assist every 205 minutes)

Serie A 13/14 – 32 games 11 goals and 8 assists (goal or assist every 142 minutes)

On this seasons showing he’s got a bit to do compared to Hazard (goal or assist every 145 minutes)  Oscar (116 minutes)  Fabregas (109 minutes)

He’s £8.5m which is slightly more expensive than the player he’s likely to directly compete with in Willian but he’s actually more expensive than Oscar who’s a proven quantity albeit with some rotation issues.  Willian is currently an injury doubt so he may get a chance to start but faces pretty stiff competition from Chelsea midfielders for our FPL teams.  Schurrle and Salah leaving at least reduce the competition.  Excellent fixtures apart from the GW27 blank and a DGW somewhere

Aaron Lennon Spurs to Everton

Lennon is a 27 year old right winger England International

Premier League 14/15 – 9 games 0 goals and 2 assists (goal or assist every 140 minutes)

Premier League 13/14 – 27 games 1 goal and 5 assists (goal or assist every 363 minutes)

Lets compare him this season to Mirallas (goal or assist every 164 minutes)  Barkely (382 minutes) McGeady (288 minutes)

At £6.2m he’s cheaper than Mirallas and Barkley but more expensive than McGeady.  It’s an interesting transfer as Martinez has used Coleman and Baines as fullbacks as the width players so it will be interesting to see how he fits in.  The Europa Leaguie has seen alot of midfield rotation but interestingly Lennon has already played there so he will be ineligible boosting his Premier league gametime potential. The fixtures are tricky, giving us plenty of time to assess his potential before diving in

Liverpool (H)
Chelsea (A)
Leicester (H)
Arsenal (A)
Stoke (A)
Newcastle (H)

Robert Huth Stoke to Leicester

Huth is a 30 year old CB German International

Premier League 14/15 – 1 games 0 goals and 0 assists (goal or assist every N/A minutes) – only played 4 premier league minutes this season

Premier League 13/14 – 12 games 0 goal and 2 assists (goal or assist every  533 minutes) – 4 clean sheets involved in

There are very few reasons to invest in the Leicester defence apart from price.  That has attracted the attention of some FPL managers to £4.0m cheapie CB Wasilewski.  He was facing some pressure from another £3.9m cheapie CB Upson who’s just come back from injury but Huth will also cast serious doubt on  Wasilewski’s gametime.  Huth is also £4.7m which is way over priced for the defence when you can get Schlupp for £4.5m who plays in midfield.  To add even more doubt Leicester have no game in GW27 which means a precious sub position is wasted when you want to save them for Spurs and Chelsea players

Crystal Palace (H)
Arsenal (A)
Everton (A)
– Gameweek 27 –
Man City (A)
Hull (H)

Filip Djuricic Benfica via Mainz to Southampton

Djuricic is a 23 year old attacking midfield Serbian International

Bundelsliga for Mainz on loan 14/15 – 11 games 0 goals and 0 assists (goal or assist every N/A minutes) – Played 476 minutes

Portugese league for Benfica 13/14 – 11 games 0 goals and 1 assist (goal or assist every  355 minutes)

Nothing really to bother with a comparison here.  However you dismiss Koeman’s transfers at your peril.  There are 2 stats which give some hope that he has some potential.  For SC Heerenveen in the Dutch League he made 111 appearances for 26 goals and 28 assists which is not to be sniffed at.  For Serbia he’s played 17 games since 2012 for 4 goals which isn’t half bad either.  The tricky thing is gametime.  With Mane, Elia and Tadic already there as attacking midfielders it’s hard to see him as else other than cover and strengthening the squad without any significant expenditure.  At £6.0m he’s also not cheap.

If you’re going to gamble then away to QPR is a good time to do it.
