fantasy premier league – transfer deadline day implications part 2

Fantasy Premier League, News

Here’s a summary of some of other  transfers in fantasy premier league and the implications for our fantasy premier league teams including  Sessegnon,Anichebe, McCarthy,  Barry, Kebe, Hunt and Zverotic

Kebe to Palace

RWM Kebe arrives at Palace from Reading.  Last year in the Premier league he scored 5 goals and 2 assists  from 16 starts and 2 appearances as sub at a point every 18.5 minutes.  Considering how Reading struggled that’s not a bad return.  I can’t see him starting at the moment with Puncheon on the right hand side as an attacking right midfielder.  No need to dive in that’s for sure as he’s £5.om in fantasy premier league where there are better alternatives and Palace also have the 19th best fixtures over the next 6 games starting away to Man Utd.

Monitor at best but most likely ignore

Jack Hunt to Palace

22 year old English right back who played 40 games for 4 assists in the Championship last year for Huddersfield Town.  Fantasy premier league owners of cheapie RB Joel Ward needn’t worry.  He’s made a good start and Hunt can only be cover in my mind

Elsad Zverotic to Fulham

Experienced 26 year old Montenegro International who has played 39 times for his country over the last 7 seasons.  Primarily a RB but versatility over the back line was talked about on his signing.  Played 28 games for Young boys last season.  I cant see him replacing Reither in the line up and to me he looks like a Chris Baird cover type defensive player.  Personally I wouldn’t touch the Fulham defence with a barge pole  so its not really relevant in my mind.  If you are interested for some reason he £4.5m and Fulhams next game is home to WBA.  Fulham are ranked 8th on my fixture ease list for the next 6 games

its an ignore for me

McCarthy and Barry to Everton

Ostensibly 2 CDMs to replace Fellaini and adds to the current CDM of Gibson.  Unless there’s a massive role change, neither are fantasy premier league players.  McCarthy who is expensive at £5.5m in fantasy premier league returned a point every 33 minutes for Wigan last season.  Gareth Barry at £5,3m every 27 minutes last season so neither are going to be considered for our fantasy premier league teams.

The important question is the effect on cheapie sensation Barkley.  Happily I don’t think it will change the position.  I can still see only 2 CDMs being played and Barkely holding off Osman for the place hopefully behind the striker

They are both ignores for me

Sessegnon and Anichebe to WBA

Interesting transfers these.  Last week Clarke played Long and Anelka up front with Morrison and Sinclair on the flanks and 2 CDMs in Yacob and Mulumbu.  I have to confess I’m not sure what he’s thinking here.  Long he tried to sell so I’m assuming Anichebe has a good chance of starting.  At £5.3m he’s not too expensive and last year scored 6 goals and 6 assists at a return of a point every 18 minutes.  Not too bad for the cheapie price tag.  I cant see WBA creating the chance she had for Everton though.  Sessegnon is a strange one.  He doesn’t fit into 4-4-2 so either Clarke is going to play 4-4-1-1 or 4-2-3-1 to accommodate the CAM who plays behind the striker or Sessegnons game time is going to be pretty limited. At £6.8m he’s not cheap.  Last year he returned 7 goals and 5 assists from the season at a point every 20 minutes.  That is not good enough for a CAM at that price.

WBA’s next game is away to Fulham and then home to Sunderland which are good fixtures but after that it gets difficult starting away to Man Utd.  Personally I would stay away from both.  I’m not even sure I could say with any certainty either will start in those 2 good fixtures and that is before you factor in the unpredictability of the manager

They’re both an ignore for me

That’s it on the 2nd batch of transfers.  I’ll be moving on to the existing fantasy premier league players next
