fantasy premier league transfer tips – the FFGeek team for GW22

Fantasy Premier League

Here’s the fantasy premier league transfer tips article for GW22 where we outline the FFGeek team.  As usual we outline the transfers and the dilemmas around it as well as the team selection plus the captain choice.  Plus we have a new article for amusement called what sort of week will it be?

fantasy premier league transfer tips – the FFGeek team for GW22

Firstly here’s the transfer and the team.  I had to fix the potential for a no goalkeeper situation so I’ve transferred out Myhill of WBA for GK Gomes of Watford.  Here’s the team then.  No money in the bank.

The transfers

So little choice in the transfers in the end.  I had to have a guaranteed playing GK and only had £4.8m.  McCarthy lost his place at Palace some time ago and with Foster back Myhill could lose his place at anytime.  The WBA thing is a shame as they have good fixtures coming up and if I had the cash I might have just put Hennessey of Palace in for McCarthy and left Myhill in.  If and when Myhill lost his place I could just swap in Foster.  I could have acheived that by putting in Elliot of Newcastle but that looked a step to far.  So my choices for Myhill were Fabianski of Swansea, Forster of Southampton, Hennessey of Palace and Gomes of Watford.  In the end I went for Gomes as the first 6 fixtures or so were good.  I’m probably looking to Wildcard about GW32/33 so fixtures up to that point were important.  Watford’s fall away after the 6 but I thought the short term was more important in the end.  Watford defensive form has been pretty horrible recently which was a question mark.  They’ve conceded 2 goals in each of their last 4 games.  However those games included Chelsea, Man City and Spurs.  Perhaps the Southampton GW21  two goals conceded were the main disappointment.

Aside from that Payet at the moment is the major attraction.  However it didn’t make sense to change things with everyone apart from Lukaku having a good fixture.  Alli is probably the most likely target for replacement and even if I could get him Payet in home to Sunderland is a fixture that doesn’t need Alli replaced.

The team selection

With Surman as my 5th mid it’s only the defence that needs selecting.  However with Bournemouth playing Norwich I did think for a brief second that I might use the all out attack chip although defensive selections are ok this week so no need.

Firstly here’s my clean sheet tips article if you’re stuck with your defensive selections:

http://www.fantasyfootballgeek.co.uk/fantasy-premier-league-clean-sheet-tips-gw22/

Lets see how myself and the bookies ranked the defensive selection based on clean sheet ranking.  Remember there are 3 places to pick:

Team FFG CS Rank Bookies CS rank
1 Spurs11
2 Leicester52
3 Arsenal65
4 Liverpool910
5 Stoke1515

So no conflict over choices this week between myself and the bookies so the choice was easy.  Walker of Spurs first.  Followed by Simpson of Leicester, Mertesacker of Arsenal, Moreno of Liverpool and Wollscheid of Stoke

The Captain choice

A difficult one this week.  Having 2 main captain choices in Aguero and Kane that have around a 40% consistency rate but both have the ability to score big is hardly the path to a relaxed weekend.  I’m doing a captain article next so if I change I’ll tweet and facebook at least if not do a brief article if I change from Kane

What sort of week will it be?

I thought for a bit of amusement I would start totalling up the clean sheet odds and the anytime goal scoring odds to get a total odds value of the team for the gameweek.  That by comparing to other weeks will give me a feel for the weeks prospects.  This week looks like a good week so it will be a good benchmark,  Obviously the captain effect and assists aren’t factored in but it should give a rough feel of prospects

PlayerCS/ATG odds
1Gomes£3.10
2Simpson£2.45
3Mertesacker£2.50
4Walker£1.91
5Alli£2.50
6Mahrez£3.00
7 De Bruyne£3.10
8Ozil£3.60
9Lukaku£3.10
10Kane£1.73
11Aguero£1.80
total28.79
average£2.62

To have 3 players under £2.00 and another 3 under £3.00 seems pretty good as does the average.

Thats it.  Captain article next.  Good luck
