fantasy premier league transfers DGW 34 – the early bandwagons and sinking ships

Fantasy Premier League

Here’s my view of the fantasy premier league transfers DGW 34 bandwagons and sinking ships.   If your’e not familiar these are the 5  most transferred in and the 5 most transferred out players so far in the gameweek.    Remember Chelsea and Man Utd have Champions league games and  and Spurs v Sunderland  is tonight so early transfers of those teams carry additional injury risk.

I’ve put the fixtures to the end of the season after each player and specifically highlighted which have DGWs in DGW34 and DGW37.

Dzeko

3 goals and 2 assists in his last 3 games.  A £7.1m forward leading the line for City is a great bargain.  The only issue is that in theory Aguero is back this week.  If Pellegrini goes back to 2 strikers then no problem, Dzeko should hold his place.  However if it sticks to Silva behind a lone striker than its doubtful that Dzeko will start.

A risky transfer and need to see what the Aguero fitness position is at the end of the week

Lukaku

Since coming back from injury he’s scored 4 goals and 2 assists in 6 games and with 2 good DGW34 games then Lukaku looks a must have.  It’s compounded by the rotation in the  midfield meaning he is the only nailed on gametime attacking player.  For me he’s a must have.

Lambert

Very occasionally gets rotated (on the bench in 1 game in his last 10).  With the Rodriguez injury looking serious (although no time frame yet) this should be avoided.  No DGW in 34 or 37 is the draw back but any time you’re home to Cardiff it’s going to draw transfers.  3 goals and 3 assists in his last 4 games shows his excellent form.  Also has pens and direct free kicks in his locker

Puncheon

2 goals away to Cardiff.  Has a DGW34 and looks a new option as an attacking cheapie for the Palace side.  He always been a excellent shooting attacking midfielder but this year his returns have been poor.  This is his first return in 8 games.  However his returns have been excerbated by the fact that he’s been in and out of the side.  However he offers an attacking alternative to the cheapie Ki type Sunderland player although he only has one DGW in 34.

Silva

In my mind it’s probably more important to have YYT for the DGWs.  While YYT is as much a defensive move because of his ownership, Silva is the icing on the cake with only 9% ownership. If Aguero comes back and Pellgrini plays 2 strikers he will be moved to the left.  However he always drifts in anyway and the positional loss will be mitigated by having 2 strikers to create chances for.

Rodriguez

Suffered a knee injury in the game against Man City.  No time frame yet from the club although Pochettino said it “doesn’t look good”.  He’s home to Cardiff next if the injury isn’t that bad which is the only negative to selling so quick but it looked very bad.

Rooney

On the basis that there is some hope he will be available for the Bayern game then you would hope with no game in DGW34 that he will be fit for GW35. However I would probably sell but he needs to be back in for GW36 home to Norwich and then for Uniteds excellent DGW37.   Transferring out now depends on whether you can plan that into your team

Sturridge

Hard to believe that someone who has scored or assisted in nearly 80% of his games and is the 2nd highest scorer can be on the sell list.  However with Aguero and Lukaku looking essential for DGW34 and Suarez untouchable then he’s a natural target unfortunately.  Hasn’t returned in his last 2 which hasn’t helped.

Hazard

On the bench against Stoke and 2 games without returning is always going to be a trigger for sales.  If Chelsea get through the PSG tie though it could set a pattern of resting especially as well as Willian and Salah played.  Has the potential to score 20 points at anytime and with high ownership is a dangerous player to sell.  Especially with the good fixtures.  I would certainly wait until the outcome of the PSG game before even thinking it.

Nolan

No returns in the last 6 and mixed fixtures at best to go, Nolan is a natural sell for me.  Hasn’t really benefited from Carroll being back.
