fantasy premier league wildcard – my imaginary wildcard for GW10

Fantasy Premier League

Here’s my fantasy premier league wildcard.  Well at least a pretend one.  I’m not planning the real one until March-ish.  This is really to give you some food for thought on who to put in your team for your GW10 transfer or transfers.

Here’s where I pretend I have a Wildcard and use it.  This is just to help you make a decision on what transfers you are going to do for GW10.

Firstly here’s the team.  I have just done some quick comments on each player and the structure.  You can find full details on all the players in my “ones to watch” articles

Goalkeeper

I’ve just gone for the cheap GK with no rotation to save cash.  I;ve chosen a reasonable all round defence in WBA and Foster. Myhill could have been the choice for reserve but I’ve gone for Hulls Jakupovic who currently has a place between the sticks with injuries to McGregor and Harper

Defence

I’ve gone for 2 full time Defenders in Baines and Chambers plus 3 rotating cheapies for the 3rd spot in 3-4-3.  I could have gone for a Chelsea defender especially with QPR next but I’ve gone for the attacking option of Baines.  Chambers value and home to Burnley was a no brainer.

Midfield

I’ve left out 2 of the high ownership players of Di Maria and Siggy.  Doing this comes with risk to your ranking if they score but both have mitigating factors.  Firstly Di Maria is due to Sanchez.  It’s just slightly better form and better fixtures for Sanchez.  For Di Maria with Man City and Arsenal in the next 3 it’s a gamble that the ranking damage in the short term of Di Maria will be minimised by the difficult fixtures.  I’ve also gone for the fixtures of Chadli over Siggy who now has 3 very difficult fixtures next which should minimise the damage Siggy’s ownership could do.

Fabregas with QPR next, high ownership and great fixtures is a no brainer.  Sterling is controversial due to the fact that he’s only got 2 assists in his last 4 games.  His ownership is very high which makes him a risk to sell especially as the overall fixtures are still ok and his underlying stats are good.  Boyd is the reliable very cheap bench warmer who also has some attacking potential

Forwards

Costa has to be in with QPR next and the fixtures that Chelsea have.  Aguero is also the quality striker in the league and an alternative captain option to Costa.  Pelle was the 3rd choice.  He has 3 fixtures which are good before they turn.  His form and consistency are excellent.

Thats it.  Excuse the very brief nature but there’s loads of detail on each player in the “ones to watch” articles.
