fantasy premier league wildcard – our GW5 imaginary one

Fantasy Premier League

Here’s  our fantasy premier league wildcard article  where we use our “imaginary” one ie pretend we have one to use.  It’s a way of giving you transfer options which have more longevity than just the next gameweek.  Time is ticking on so it’s a very short whistlestop.  All the players have detailed stats in the “ones to watch” articles this week.

Here’s the team with some short narrative.  You can get the detail on the all the players in my ones to watch articles

The Core players

In defence I’ve gone for Begovic the Chelsea reserve GK who looks like he could be in the team for a good few months.  The Chelsea defence maybe wildly underperforming but this seems a good punt for the cost

In defence Koalrov, Gomez and Darmian fall into the core category from (in the main) strong performing defensive teams.

In the midfield then Pedro, Sanchez, and YYT make up the core of the midfield with Aguero up front.

The ownership players

You may have seen my recent article “circling back on the ownership question” where I debated what was the valid ownership position in the first 10 or so games.  That concluded that following the players represented the most in the top 10 FPL managers articles were the ownership proxy at the moment.  So that as far as attacking players was Mahrez, Aguero and Benteke.  I haven’t included Benteke as he’s got Utd away and would be a transfer for GW6. It’s not meant to be literal by the way as there isn’t enough cash left over.

The fixture players

At the moment thats limited to Wilson and Gomis who are represented in my fixture ease article for GW5.

The cheap players

Westwood is the £4.5m mid who has some set piece responsibility.

The GK McCarthy is the £4.0m GK who’s holding his place now but faces the return of Speroni but is still the best pick.

The other cheapies are in defence.  Nyom where I think Watford have some good defence potential.  Lastly it’s Dawson.  He’s £5.0m but thats what I had left over so the WBA defence seemed worth getting.

Thats it.  Good luck for the gameweek
