Wildcard Team

This week I decided to use my wildcard.
Here is the team:

Structure

I decided on a 442 for the time being. I am possibly of thinking of playing a waiting game to see which striker has the better fixtures and switch between the three (Lukaku missed the cut this time). The one thing that I have done like I did last year was to find a way to get 5 playable defenders into my team. For me the 4 midfielders will play every week and I will possibly sacrifice that 3rd striker with Defenders even though I believe Joselu is due as well.

Defence

I went with Swansea (Mawson), Burnley (Mee), Spurs (Davies), Man U(Jones) and Newcastle(Lascelles) for my defenders. If you look over the next 6 to 12 weeks I believe all of them have above average fixtures except for Burnley and their fixtures are mixed but I am expecting a turn of great form at home to continue from the last campaign. I also was a fan of the Southampton defence but now I think they have too many uncertainties especially with two more defenders in the mix and a run of what I think are mixed fixtures coming around. Its not even the fixtures that scare me, it’s their inability to score that scares me to death and that leads to games where you get down 1 – nil, start chasing the game and all of a sudden it becomes 2,3, or sometimes even 4 down.

Midfield

I decided here to go with form with 3 form midfielders and my feel pick. Mikki and Salah are the two top midfield players that play on two of the probably best 4 or 5 attacking teams in the league. I picked Gross as he is a the 4th best midfielder at the present and I think he is going to be a must have in a few weeks barring injury. My feel pick is Alli.  Even though he played in the EFL last night his gametime should be secure in the immediate future given he is suspended for 2 more Champions League games.    If he continues to struggle, I already had David Silva in my mind and then I could upgrade a forward.

Forwards

I feel sick that I did not have Aguero in my team especially because I had him in and decided against it at the last minute for Lukaku. He got 12 points which was not that much of a loss but the second thinking always makes me feel like I am missing out. My second guessing cost me last week and I will not waiver again until Pep drops him which I am hoping will not happen again. Kane again has fixtures and statistics on his side. As from previous articles he should have about 5 or 6 goals by now and his luck will change given the amount of chances Spurs provide. It’s just a matter of time and I want to reap the rewards.

All the best for GW6, especially if you’re using your wildcard
