Comment

So this is a team built for the double gameweek 37 but also with an eye to “Villa bash” with Townsend in this week and 3 Arsenal players for the last week. I’ve also tried to maximise the DGW players but also look to players within a team with something to play for.  There’s no Liverpool players as they have recently been very rotation heavy so who knows what a Europa League final  and a Champions league spot next year will do to the team.  If you’re desperate to have them though my gambles would be Firmino and Lovren

I’ve avoided Leicester and Spurs players as who knows what team will be put out and who will be rested.

The team isn’t particularly expensive, around £103m

The GKs

2 double gameweek players in Gomes and Robles.  Gomes as who knows what defenders will start in what seems a teams selection decided by a dartboard.  Robles is good value but wont play in GW38 as by all accounts thats been promised to Howard.

The defenders

I would suggest that a Man Utd defender is essential.  LVG has talked of some rotation but in chasing a 4th spot Smalling looks a pretty essential component.  Rojo is proably the next best option.

The West Ham defence is pretty ordinary but the appeal of a DGW and Swansea in particular makes some representation desirable.  Cresswell has good attacking potential too.  Reid for me is the cheap option.

Kone is the cheap Sunderland defence version with Van Aanholt the attacking option.

The Chelsea defence has been pretty ordinary to say the least but a DGW and the attacking potential of Ivanovic gives them appeal,  Azpilicueta is slightly cheaper.

I’ve gone for Gabriel as Mertesacker is out for the last 2 games which means Gabriel will be a cheap option at least for the Villa GW38 game.

The midfield

With Pedro subbed off against Spurs and Hazard impressive over the last 2 games I’ve gone for him as the Chelsea coverage.

Townsend is the option against Villa as is Sanchez and Iwobi for GW38.  Iwobi though is a gametime gamble though with a lot of competition for his place and a 55 minute sub off in the last game.

Payet is a must have and a good triple captain option

The forwards

I’ve kept Aguero as Man City still have a Champions League spot to get.  Carroll and Defoe are my DGW choices

The ownership battleground

The risk areas are Spurs in defence, Mahrez and Kane.  Both of these teams have little to play for unless you think Spurs are going to want to nail 2nd place.  Even with that Alderweireld has just recovered from a knock and both FBs could easily be rotated.  Kane has played every game.
