So here’s the team. It’s at a very affordable value at around £102.9m
I’ve tried to base the picks on my “ones to watch” rankings within the confines of my own team value of £103.0m
I’ve started with 2 premium forwards and the 2 top ranked were Aguero and Kane. However both Kane and Costa, who was ranked 4th, gave me some problems down the line so I went with Lukaku who also has a plumb fixtures this week is cheaper and has higher ownership. Again I chose Austin for budgetary reasons although Defoe is the higher ranked cheap striker option.
With the midfield I went for the 3 top ranked players of Firmino, Hazard and Coutinho. That meant the next had to be a cheapie. Chadli would have been my player of choice but with issues over fitness and again budget I went for the cheaper option of Snodgrass
In defence I went for the 2 top ranked premium value defenders in Vertonghen and Alonso. I Could have gone for 3 at £4.5m to save budget but to me Stones has so much potential if Man City can get their defence together. Stones is also the top ranked £5.0m defender. Then I’ve gone for Holebas who despite a suspension is a quality attacking defender in a team who’ve shown the ability to get clean sheets against lower opposition. Next in the lineup was another quality attacking defender in McAuley. Surprisingly Bournemouth were ranked higher as a defensive unit but have far more difficult fixtures.
In goal I’ve gone for 2 relatively cheap GKs in the save point king of Heaton and £4.1m Pickford of Sunderland
