fantasy premier league wildcard tips – our imaginary GW10 one

Fitrstly here’s the team:

fpl..gw10imagWC

GK Begovic Chelsea 2 clean sheets in 9 games 17 goals conceded.  FPL point every 26.2 mins

With Mourinho dropping Hazard to make them more defensively secure it’s a good message for future clean sheets.   The reserve keeper in for Courtios’ long term injury is good value compared to the other options

West Ham (A)
Liverpool (H)
Stoke (A)
Norwich (H)
Spurs (A)
Bournemouth (H)

GK Hennesey C Palace 2 clean sheets in 9 games 10 goals conceded.  FPL point every 22.5 mins

At £3.9m and starting the last 3 for Palace, he’s the natural reserve GK for your FPL team even if there is good competition for his place

Leicester (A)
Man Utd (H)
Liverpool (A)
Sunderland (H)
Newcastle (H)
Everton (A)

Def Moreno (0 goals 1 assist) Liverpool 4 clean sheets in 9 games 10 goals conceded.  FPL point every 20.0 mins

With Gomez out for the season Moreno becomes a great option at a great price of £4.7m.  Also very good attacking underlying stats. Liverpool have good underlying defensive stats too.  Fixtures are tricky though

Southampton (H)
Chelsea (A)
Crystal Palace (H)
Man City (A)
Swansea (H)
Newcastle (A)

Def Kolarov (1 goal 0 assists) Man City 5 clean sheets in 9 games 8 goals conceded.  FPL point every 14.9 mins

Man City have the most clean sheets with Arsenal and WBA and the best underlying defensive stats despite no clean sheets in the last 4 games.  Rotation is the issue and no one is safe so I’ve stuck with the best attacking option in Kolarov

Man Utd (A)
Norwich (H)
Aston Villa (A)
Liverpool (H)
Southampton (H)
Stoke (A)

Def Koscielny (0 goal 0 assists) Arsenal 5 clean sheets in 9 games 7 goals conceded.  FPL point every 24.2 mins

To be honest you could go for either Bellerin or Monreal as well.  Like Man City everyone is rotatable.  I’ve chosen Koscielny as he is the key to their defense.  However the injury record and being key for Chammpions league games also makes him rotatable.  It’s a matter of taking your pick.

Everton (H)
Swansea (A)
Spurs (H)
West Brom (A)
Norwich (A)
Sunderland (H)

Def Nyom (0 goal 0 assists) Watford 3 clean sheets in 9 games 10 goals conceded.  FPL point every 26.8 mins

I’ve gone for Watford as my cheap option here due to their clean sheet and defensive underlying stats record.  Nyom seems the best in terms of bonus although he is showing as a card magnet.

Stoke (A)
West Ham (H)
Leicester (A)
Man Utd (H)
Aston Villa (A)
Norwich (H)

Def  Dawson (1 goal 0 assists) WBA 5 clean sheets in 9 games 11 goals conceded.  FPL point every 20.8 mins

The defensive maestro Tony Pulis continues to do it and is good value for coverage.  Good underlying stats.  A few tricky fixtures though

Norwich (A)
Leicester (H)
Man Utd (A)
Arsenal (H)
West Ham (A)
Spurs (H)

Mahrez  (  FPL point every 9.4 minutes 5 goals 4 assists. 6 returns either goal or assist/8 games  75% consistency return rate)

Fantastic start to the season.  Inexplicably dropped to the bench in the last 2 games to improve the defensive resolve of the Leicester team.  However such was his influence in getting them back into the game against Southampton in GW9.

Crystal Palace (H)
West Brom (A)
Watford (H)
Newcastle (A)
Man Utd (H)
Swansea (A)

Payet  (  FPL point every 12.2 minutes 5 goals 3 assists. 7 returns either goal or assist/9 games  78% consistency return rate)

Fantastic start to the season for the former Marseille midfielder.  The attacking hub of the West Ham team.  Tricky fixtures coming up but he is owned by a large majority of the current top 10k and the top FPL managers I follow so has some rank protection reasoning

Chelsea (H)
Watford (A)
Everton (H)
Spurs (A)
West Brom (H)
Man Utd (A)

Lanzini  (  FPL point every 14.8 minutes 2 goals 2 assists. 3 returns either goal or assist/7 games  43% consistency return rate)

Again I’ve not gone for the cheap bench filler of Westwood and Surman who give security of starts but limited points potential.  I’ve nailed my colours to Lanzini the West Ham midfielder who played centrally last week and has good returns.  At this level of cost there’s always a risk regarding gametime but he has started the last 6 games.  Not ideal to double up on West Ham in attack but still seems a good option

Chelsea (H)
Watford (A)
Everton (H)
Spurs (A)
West Brom (H)
Man Utd (A)

De Bruyne  (  FPL point every 9.9 minutes 3 goals 3 assists. 4 returns either goal or assist/5 games  80% consistency return rate)

Great start to his Premier League career and brings a fantastic record from Wolfsburg especially with assists.  Didn’t play centrally as expected when Silva injured though and has little in the way of shooting stats although excellent creating chances stats.  A couple of tricky fixtures in the next 6.

Man Utd (A)
Norwich (H)
Aston Villa (A)
Liverpool (H)
Southampton (H)
Stoke (A)

Sanchez (  FPL point every 10.9 minutes 6 goals 1 assist. 4 returns either goal or assist/9 games  44% consistency return rate)

Proven FPL player after an FPL point every 14.2 minutes last season.  Great form with 6 goals in his last 3 premier league games.  A player who scores big  but not necessarily consistently. Great underlying shooting stats show his form is no fluke.  Fatigue concerns though give some bench risk this gameweek but no doubts long term

Everton (H)
Swansea (A)
Spurs (H)
West Brom (A)
Norwich (A)
Sunderland (H)

Pelle (  FPL point every 14.3 minutes 5 goals 5 assists. 5 returns either goal or assist/9 games  56% consistency return rate)

Great returns, great underlying stats and great fixtures coming up except for Liverpool next and City later on.

Liverpool (A)
Bournemouth (H)
Sunderland (A)
Stoke (H)
Man City (A)
Aston Villa (H)

Vardy (  FPL point every 12.3 minutes 9 goals 1 assists. 8 returns either goal or assist/9 games  89% consistency return rate)

It’s hard to imagine the scale of the improvement from an FPL point every 18.7 minutes to his current score of an FPL poinr every 12.3 minutes.  The consistency is incredible and the underlying stats show it’s no fluke.

Crystal Palace (H)
West Brom (A)
Watford (H)
Newcastle (A)
Man Utd (H)
Swansea (A)

Bony (  FPL point every 11.4 minutes 2 goals 2 assists. 2 returns either goal or assist/7 games  27% consistency return rate)

Started up front in Aguero’s absence to November 21 and got 2 goals and an assist.  Some very good short term fixtures too after Man Utd.  Good shooting stats although limited data.

Man Utd (A)
Norwich (H)
Aston Villa (A)
Liverpool (H)
Southampton (H)
Stoke (A)
