fantasy premier league wildcard tips – the FFGeek imaginary wildcard GW13

Firstly here’s the team.  You’ll see that there’s £3.9m in the bank which is the money to be used to transfer Kane out for Aguero when fit probably for GW14

GK  De Gea Man Utd 8 clean sheets in 12 games 8 goals conceded.  FPL point every 17.6 mins

While there has been a lot of criticism about Man Utd as an attacking force you certainly can’t argue with them as a defensive one.  The most clean sheets and the least goals conceded says it all.  De Gea is about value with alot of rotation and uncertainty in the defence.  You could take a view on Rojo at £5.5m as an alternative who’s started the last 4.  Smalling who’s is an injury doubt at seems to be the only certainty at £6.7m.  They also have good fixtures in the short term.

Watford (A)
Leicester (A)
West Ham (H)
Bournemouth (A)
Norwich (H)
Stoke (A)

GK Hennesey C Palace 3 clean sheets in 12 games 12 goals conceded.  FPL point every 23.5 mins

A £4.0m reserve GK is ideal as a reserve especially with De Gea in the team who you would expect to play every week.   Has competition but has started the last 6

Sunderland (H)
Newcastle (H)
Everton (A)
Southampton (H)
Stoke (A)
Bournemouth (A)

Def Nyom (0 goal 0 assists) Watford 5 clean sheets in 12 games 12 goals conceded.  FPL point every 24.0 mins

Watford are probably the best defensive side in the league at the £4.5m price.  Nyom seems to have gametime security and the best bonus potential although is a YC issue.  Mixed fixtures.

Man Utd (H)
Aston Villa (A)
Norwich (H)
Sunderland (A)
Liverpool (H)
Chelsea (A)

Def Kolarov (1 goal 0 assists) Man City 7 clean sheets in 12 games 9 goals conceded.  FPL point every 16.1 mins

If I had unlimited funds I would probably go for Otamemdi who seems to have hit the ground running defensively and attacking wise and doesn’t have the injury issues of Kompany.  However Kolarov is marginally cheaper especially if you bought early and has good attacking underlying stats.  He will be rotated though with Clichy although that is a risk for all the defence.

Liverpool (H)
Southampton (H)
Stoke (A)
Swansea (H)
Arsenal (A)
Sunderland (H)

Def Moreno (0 goals 1 assist) Liverpool 4 clean sheets in 12 games 14 goals conceded.  FPL point every 26.6 mins

Liverpool have good defensive underlying stats and Moreno has great underlying attacking stats.    Has excellent security of starts with LB Gomez out with a long term injury.  Fixtures are good after Man City

Man City (A)
Swansea (H)
Newcastle (A)
West Brom (H)
Watford (A)
Leicester (H)

Def  Simpson (0 goal 0 assists) Leicester 1 clean sheets in 12 games 20 goals conceded.  FPL point every 25.0 mins

Probably the most nailed defender at £4.0m.  Dont hold out much hope for points though je’s just a cheap filler

Newcastle (A)
Man Utd (H)
Swansea (A)
Chelsea (H)
Everton (A)
Liverpool (A)

Def Koscielny (0 goal 2 assists) Arsenal 6 clean sheets in 12 games 9 goals conceded.  FPL point every 17.0 mins

Arsenal have an excellent defence and 3 good defensive fixtures to come.  Koscielny is probably the best attacking option within the team and important to the defence. Injury risk is the only negative.

West Brom (A)
Norwich (A)
Sunderland (H)
Aston Villa (A)
Man City (H)
Southampton (A)

Mahrez  (  FPL point every 9.9 minutes 7 goals 5 assists. 8 returns either goal or assist/11 games  73% consistency return rate)

First blank in 4 games doesn’t detract from a season so spectacular that it’s almost impossible to leave him out.  While he has great form and great underlying stats the fixtures after Newcastle are about to turn for the worse.

Newcastle (A)
Man Utd (H)
Swansea (A)
Chelsea (H)
Everton (A)
Liverpool (A)

Deulofeu (  FPL point every 11.4 minutes 1 goals 6 assists. 4 returns either goal or assist/7 games  57% consistency return rate)

The consistency rate doesn’t tell the true story as it’s 4 returns from 5 starts if you remove sub appearances.  So not only fixtures but form as well.    The only shadows are the lack of underlying stats which isn’t the end of the world but you would rather have them than not.  The other negatives are gametime risk with the number of midfield options the manager has.  He also doesn’t help himself in that regard as he’s not the hardest worker defensively to say the least.

Aston Villa (H)
Bournemouth (A)
Crystal Palace (H)
Norwich (A)
Leicester (H)
Newcastle (A)

Ozil  (  FPL point every 13.0 minutes 1 goals 10 assists. 8 returns either goal or assist/11 games  73% consistency return rate)

The Arsenal CAM is the form midfielder with 1 goal and 8 assists in his last 6 games.  Only negative is that although he’s top of the creating chances stats he has little in the way of shooting stats.  Great fixtures next.

West Brom (A)
Norwich (A)
Sunderland (H)
Aston Villa (A)
Man City (H)
Southampton (A)

Surman  (  FPL point every 11.6 minutes 0 goals 0 assists. 0 returns either goal or assist/12 games  0% consistency return rate)

Only in the team as the cheapest gametime secure 5th midfielder to come off the bench in an injury crisis.  Has played 90 minutes in every game so far.  Also only the 1 yellow card so hopefully that 2 points wont become 1.  Better in the team if you have a stronger 4th midfielder to come off the bench for a clean sheet prospect

Swansea (A)
Everton (H)
Chelsea (A)
Man Utd (H)
West Brom (A)
Crystal Palace (H)

Sanchez (  FPL point every 13.6 minutes 6 goals 1 assist. 4 returns either goal or assist/12 games  33% consistency return rate)

Blanked in his last 3 but with the fixtures to come it would take a brave man to sell him given his ability to rack up 10 + points at anytime.  The best shooting stats of any midfielder but you just have to accept inconsistent returns.

West Brom (A)
Norwich (A)
Sunderland (H)
Aston Villa (A)
Man City (H)
Southampton (A)

Kane (  FPL point every 19.3 minutes 6 goals 0 assists. 4 returns either goal or assist/12 games  33% consistency return rate)

After 1 goal in his first 9 games it’s 5 in the last 3.  The underlying stats though have always been good and that gives hope that it’s sustainable.  Fixtures are good too.  Possibly the fall guy for Aguero though

West Ham (H)
Chelsea (H)
West Brom (A)
Newcastle (H)
Southampton (A)
Norwich (H)

Vardy (  FPL point every 12.5 minutes 12 goals 1 assists. 11 returns either goal or assist/12 games  92% consistency return rate)

Unbelieveable season.  Fantastic form backed up by fantastic underlying stats.  However after Newcastle the fixtures get tricky but he’s difficult to ignore.  It’s just how long do you have 2 players from Leicester when the fixtures are difficult.

Newcastle (A)
Man Utd (H)
Swansea (A)
Chelsea (H)
Everton (A)
Liverpool (A)

Lukaku (  FPL point every 14.1 minutes 7 goals 4 assists. 6 returns either goal or assist/12 games  50% consistency return rate)

It’s a real testament to his form this season that he’s done so well despite the difficult fixtures.  Pretty good underlying stats as well show it’s no fluke.  The fixtures are fantastic as well.

Aston Villa (H)
Bournemouth (A)
Crystal Palace (H)
Norwich (A)
Leicester (H)
Newcastle (A)
