GK  De Gea Man Utd 8 clean sheets in 13 games 9 goals conceded.  FPL point every  18.4 mins

Man Utd have the most clean sheets and the least goals conceded so they demand coverage in your team.  Consistent selection and gametime risk is an issue though so De Gea gives you a saving of over £1m on Smalling who is the only guaranteed starter in defence.  Rojo may also become that at £5.5m but I think it needs a couple of games to establish that

Leicester (A)
West Ham (H)
Bournemouth (A)
Norwich (H)
Stoke (A)
Chelsea (H)

GK Hennesey C Palace 3 clean sheets in 13 games 13 goals conceded.  FPL point every 25.2 mins

You would most likely play De Gea home and away so Hennesey is a great cheap alternative who has the GK spot at the moment

Newcastle (H)
Everton (A)
Southampton (H)
Stoke (A)
Bournemouth (A)
Swansea (H)

Def Nyom (0 goal 0 assists) Watford 5 clean sheets in 13 games 14 goals conceded.  FPL point every  24.4 mins

Watford have the stats to show that they are the best cheap defence in the £4.5m defence range and need to have a defensive strategy as despite Deeney and Ighalo are not a prolific attacking force.  Good next 3 fixtures

Aston Villa (A)
Norwich (H)
Sunderland (A)
Liverpool (H)
Chelsea (A)
Spurs (H)

Souare Def  (0 goal 1 assists)  3 clean sheets in 13 games 13 goals conceded.  FPL point every 34.1 mins

Another good cheap defensive option with good attacking potential.

Newcastle (H)
Everton (A)
Southampton (H)
Stoke (A)
Bournemouth (A)
Swansea (H)

Def Moreno (0 goals 1 assist) Liverpool 4 clean sheets in 13 games 15 goals conceded.  FPL point every  27.9 mins

The player with the best creating chances stats in the league and very good value for Liverpools defence and fixtures coming

Swansea (H)
Newcastle (A)
West Brom (H)
Watford (A)
Leicester (H)
Sunderland (A)

Def  Simpson (0 goal 1 assists) Leicester 2 clean sheets in 13 games 20 goals conceded.  FPL point every 19.0 mins

A filler only despite his clean sheet and assist at the weekend.  Probably the most nailed £4.0m defender in the league at the moment

Man Utd (H)
Swansea (A)
Chelsea (H)
Everton (A)
Liverpool (A)
Man City (H)

Def Bellerin (0 goal 2 assists) Arsenal 6 clean sheets in 13 games 11 goals conceded.  FPL point every  18.3 mins

In an effort to save money (even £0.1m) I’ve gone for Bellerin over Koscielny who would be my first choice.  There is some risk over the defence though with CDM Coquelin injured for 2-3 months and it remains to be seen what the effect of him going will be.  Good fixtures in the short term.

Norwich (A)
Sunderland (H)
Aston Villa (A)
Man City (H)
Southampton (A)
Bournemouth (H)

Mahrez  (  FPL point every 9.9 minutes 7 goals 6 assists. 9 returns either goal or assist/12 games  75% consistency return rate)

Has everything stats wise.  Great returns, great consistency, great underlying stats.  Within a very successful attacking team.  The only negative is fixtures and they are about as bad as it could get.

Man Utd (H)
Swansea (A)
Chelsea (H)
Everton (A)
Liverpool (A)
Man City (H)

Deulofeu (  FPL point every 12.3 minutes 1 goals 6 assists. 4 returns either goal or assist/8 games  50% consistency return rate)

How he didn’t return a goal or assist in the game against Villa is beyond me as he was fantastic.  However has been a constant threat although more of an assist threat than a goal threat.  Barkley is more expensive and central as has better shoy stats but han’t been as consistent.

Bournemouth (A)
Crystal Palace (H)
Norwich (A)
Leicester (H)
Newcastle (A)
Stoke (H)

Ozil  (  FPL point every 12.8 minutes 1 goals 11 assists. 9 returns either goal or assist/12 games  75% consistency return rate)

Mr consistency continues to keep the points rolling and has the best creating chances stats of any midfielder.  Very little shot threat though but a great couple of fixtures ahead

Norwich (A)
Sunderland (H)
Aston Villa (A)
Man City (H)
Southampton (A)
Bournemouth (H)

Surman  (  FPL point every 43.3 minutes 0 goals 0 assists. 0 returns either goal or assist/13 games  0% consistency return rate)

Just a very cheap filler with virtually no assist or goal threat. Seems to be gametime secure and doesn’t attract YCs

Everton (H)
Chelsea (A)
Man Utd (H)
West Brom (A)
Crystal Palace (H)
Arsenal (A)

Sanchez (  FPL point every 13.6 minutes 6 goals 1 assist. 4 returns either goal or assist/12 games  33% consistency return rate)

The reverse of Ozil.  Inconsistent but explosive and the best shooting stats of any midfielder.  Seems to be perpetually on the edge of an injury but apparently likely to play.  3 great fixtures ahead though make him a hard player to sell

West Brom (A)
Norwich (A)
Sunderland (H)
Aston Villa (A)
Man City (H)
Southampton (A)

Kane (  FPL point every 16.8 minutes 8 goals 0 assists. 5 returns either goal or assist/13 games  38% consistency return rate)

After a slow start it’s 7 goals in 4 games.  Unlike last year though he’s got the underlying shooting stats to back it up.  Good fixtures too.

Chelsea (H)
West Brom (A)
Newcastle (H)
Southampton (A)
Norwich (H)
Watford (A)

Aguero (  FPL point every 12.2 minutes 7 goals 1 assists. 4 returns either goal or assist/9 games  44% consistency return rate)

There’s no doubting the quality of the player and he’s a consistent FPL returner.  This year despite only Giroud having better shooting stats he hasn’t been able to put the ball away but can do so on any given day.  However there are 2 caveats. His current injury fragility which means he is a gametime and 90 minute risk especially now Bony appears fit.  The other is fixtures which could be better.  However he has consistently proven himself as fixture irrelevant.

Southampton (H)
Stoke (A)
Swansea (H)
Arsenal (A)
Sunderland (H)
Leicester (A)

Lukaku (  FPL point every 13.2 minutes 9 goals 4 assists. 7 returns either goal or assist/13 games  53% consistency return rate)

Like Kane he’s on fire.  4 goals and 2 assists in the last 3 games.  Good underlying stats too and the fixtures are excellent.  There are no negatives at the moment.  Good last words to end on!

Bournemouth (A)
Crystal Palace (H)
Norwich (A)
Leicester (H)
Newcastle (A)
Stoke (H)
