fantasy premier league wildcard tips – our imaginary wildcard for GW24

Fantasy Premier League, imaginary wildcard

Here’s our regular fantasy premier league wildcard tips article where we pretend we have a wildcard to use.  The idea being that it gives player picks with more longevity than just the next gameweek.

So this time I made sure the team strictly fitted into my own pathetic value of £102.1m so it’s very achievable but there are a number of sacrifices to do it.  It’s also done with an eye towards GW26 and GW28. It also has enough versatility to be more than just 3-4-3.  Indeed given the midfield sacrifices made that maybe a necessity

Just a general word first though I plan to Wildcard for the double game weeks up coming.  This is just for illustration.  Here’s my wildcard article on the subject

Here’s the team:

Starting at the GK position Tom Heaton becomes more and more ridiculous as each gameweek goes on so I’ve joined the bandwagon probably as the parade is just being finished but whatever.  Next is man Jakupovic who annoyed every Man Utd supporter around the world with his unbelievable display against them in GW23.

In defence Holgates substitution at half time has made me upgrade to the attacking full back Coleman for Everton. Next is Alonso who’s a season keeper given the Chelsea defence at the moment.  Brunt makes up at very attacking defensive trio.  2 cheapies next.  One who will make up the 3 in GW28 in Smith and another in Yoshida who’s just great value

In midfield Sanchez stays.  Sterling is in despite 2 potential blank weeks.  The fixtures for Man City are fantastic and Sterling does seem to have Pep’s favour at the moment.  Next are 3 GW28 players in Stanislas, Morrison and Carroll.  To be honest Morrison and Carroll I wouldn’t want all things considered.  However choosing Kane has made me have to make sacrifices.  He just does have the potential for a real big score this weekend so if I was wildcarding I’d find it hard to not have him in.   Ideally Morrison would be Phillips and Carroll would be Siggy but there is a few transfers to tweak things.

Up front Lukaku is probably the biggest GW28 necessity at the moment.  Ibrahimovic for form and Kane for his captaincy this week.

If you didn’t have Kane that would give more funds for Barkley, Siggy and Antonio maybe

Selling Kane and Sterling after a couple of weeks would generate funds to tweak things depending on FA Cup results but has it positioned for the worse case scenario

GW26 and GW28

See my article on best players for the 3 guaranteed fixtures for GW28

GW26 – Not playing Ibra, Sterling, Yoshida and Sanchez.  2 transfers and 3 bench positions to deal with it

GW28 – Playing Lukaku, Stanislas, Morrison, Carroll, Brunt, Coleman, Smith and Jakupovic.  8  plus 4 transfers
