Todays changes

You need to make captain changes and substitutions before the first game kicks off at 1pm

Just a captain change today with Suarez taking the armband off Trezeguet of Egypt

No Substitutions today as no one from the bench is playing

Make sure you do your captain change and substitutions in the ROUND 2 tab not the Round 3 tab which is easy to get wrong

If you’re looking for stats on potential players for today here are my key articles.  Remember though they were done prior to the tournament so you need to see at the very least that they played in Round 1 before you pick anyone

Sun Dream Team

Firstly here’s a link to my timeline article so you can see the order of teams playing in the Group stages.  That may effect your transfer decisions

In retrospect I think you can transfer a player for a game after the first 1 in a match day as long as the player out’s team hasn’t played on the matchday and the player in’s team hasn’t played on the match day.  Here’s the rules which I think I interpreted incorrectly at first.  I have put a tweet and facebook post out to see if anyone can verify it.  The Sun Live chat have verified it so it seems fairly safe

An eligible transfer will take immediate effect and will occur if you transfer a Player out for another Player where neither the outgoing Player’s Country nor the incoming Player’s Country have played during that Match Day.

Transfers

I’m testing out the theory above by doing 3 transfers today

Lukaku out for Ronaldo 12pm UK time transfer

Hernandez out for Ramos 6pm UK time transfer

Messi out for Diego Costa (I’m not 100 % on this transfer and it assumes he starts) 6pm UK time transfer

Here’s the team as it is now prior to any transfers.  I will at least tweet any transfers

Telegraph fantasy football

As I said above,  here’s a link to my timeline article so you can see the order of teams playing in the Group stages.  That may effect your transfer decisions

In the telegraph you definitely can make transfers between matches.

the standard team

4 transfers planned today:

Ronaldo for Lukaku 12pm UK time transfer

Godin or cheaper for Mina 3pm UK time transfer

Alba or Ramos for Meunier 6pm UK time transfer

Costa (a maybe) for Griezmann 6pm UK time transfer

Here’s the team as it stands:

the defensive block team

At least 8 transfers planned today.  The Uruguay defensive block and then replaced by the Spain defensive block

I may also do Griezmann and/or Lukaku out for Suarez/Cavani and Ronaldo

  1. Your planning on making 3 transfers in the sun Dream team, your getting abit tommy trigger finger with the transfers? There’s only 20 available for the whole tournament and surely you need to harness these for the latter stages?

    • Hi Lewis

I’m gambling that there’s more points now rather than in the latter stages even at the sacrifice of some spots later on. Whether that will be the case is another thing

      Cheers and good luck today

  2. For the McDonald’s game, I’ve realised I’ve messed up the order and got Layun starting and Mesa on the bench, if I swap them now but want to swap Layun back in if Mesa does poorly, is this allowed?

    • Here’s the rule which I think applies

An unlimited number of manager substitutions can be made

      So I think it’s a yes
