Here’s my wildcard team for the Semi finals and onwards for the Fox Sports format.
Remember you will be able to see the Brazil v Germany lineups prior to the deadline closing.
It wasn’t easy for the budget thats for sure. I would have liked to use all players from the 4 semi finalists but that was impossible with the funds.
Despite the low scoring quarters I’ve still gone with the attacking players being my priority. My first priority was to get a strong front 3 with RVP, Messi and Higuain in the team. Then after that I’ve prioritised Muller and Robben. After that it was a fit in exercise which is why you see cheapie Wijnaldum. Willian is there though on the basis that he is supposedly replacing Neymar and good value. Again the lineups will tell. In the end I had to have 3 of 4 non playing subs just to make the numbers up.
It is possible that you could gamble on clean sheets given the quarters and go 4-3-3 with 1 cheap striker. I’ve put a team out to reflect this although it would depend on Klose starting tonight. You would think that if Germany lose the semifinal he would be played in the 3rd place playoff to break Mullers record. That won’t be my wildcard team though
