FPL  FORWARD PLAYER RANKINGS GW11

First it’s important to remember that each player is ranked as a transfer target for this week. So while we generally look at fixtures form and underlying stats a player who’s away to Man City is going to be ranked lower than someone home to Huddersfield for example. If possible a transfer should have a good fixture first up.

Firstly there’s a table of stats. Then there’s a bit of brief commentary on each player and their next 6 fixtures.

This is the 4th player rankings article. I’ve also written a defenders and GKs player rankings article as well as a premium midfielders article and a budget midfielders article

STATS DEFINITIONS

The schedule

 Kane

Kane played 79 minutes against Real Madrid to dispel any concerns about his fitness.  8 goals and an assist in 9 starts after blanking in his first 3 is a fantastic run.  Great underlying stats back this up.  Also has pens and bound to be a big captain favourite for GW11

Crystal Palace (H)
Arsenal (A)
West Brom (H)
Leicester (A)
Watford (A)
Stoke (H)

Aguero

Played 76 minutes against Napoli in the UCL midweek while Jesus only played a few at the end.  Does that mean anything?  Only Pep knows.  Aguero has everything, great returns, great underlying stats which now include the ability to assist.  He just doesn’t have guaranteed PL gametime especially if Pep settles on a lone striker system.  That security seems to be reserved for De Bruyne and D Silva

Arsenal (H)
Leicester (A)
Huddersfield (A)
Southampton (H)
West Ham (H)
Man Utd (A)

Morata

How he only ended up with an assist is beyond me against Bournemouth.  However seeing him get those chances was a great reaction to the poor Watford display.  6 goals and 3 assists in 7 starts 1 sub appearance plus 34 minutes against Man City have been a great start to the PL.  Whats more he’s been in a goal threat in a high percentage of games and returned a goal or assist in an acceptable 5 of the 9 games.  The Watford game was an outlier.  Should get more chances to score with Hazard in the team now firing.  Tricky game next

Man Utd (H)
West Brom (A)
Liverpool (A)
Swansea (H)
Newcastle (H)
West Ham (A)

Jesus

The WBA game was disturbingly quiet game for the young Brazilian.  That has not been typical to be fair though he has been a threat in virtually every game which has seen him return 6 goals and an assist in 8 starts.  Very good underlying stats too.

As I said for Aguero it’s just gametime and especially so if Pep settles on a lone striker system.

Arsenal (H)
Leicester (A)
Huddersfield (A)
Southampton (H)
West Ham (H)
Man Utd (A)

Lukaku

Tricky fixture next which is bound to be treated by Mourinho as 1 he doesn’t want to lose.  This has seen me mark down his ranking as you could be forgiven to waiting to next week to transfer him in. 7 goals and 3 assists playing 90 minutes in all 10 games and only blanking in 2 says it all though.  He has shown up.  What’s more only Aguero has better underlying stats

 Chelsea (A)
Newcastle (H)
Brighton (H)
Watford (A)
Arsenal (A)
Man City (H)

Firmino

Finally broke a 6 game blank run to score against Huddersfield.  Some conjecture that Salah missing the pen as well as Milner could see the penalty merry go round stopping at him.  However this guy isn’t a striker or should I say playing like a striker.  His stats make him look like a watered down Ozil or Eriksen.  Good fixture next though against a very depleted West Ham defence

West Ham (A)
Southampton (H)
Chelsea (H)
Stoke (A)
Brighton (A)
Everton (H)

Murray

3 goals in 3 games since he came into the team following Hemeds suspension.  He’s no spring chicken but this guy knows how to score.  His underlying stats overall and especially in the last 2 games have been very good.  It may also surprise you that his underlying stats aren’t a million miles away from his at Bournemouth.  Granted there is a big difference between the bus parking defensive style of Hughton in comparison to Howe who thinks defending is beneath his team but that just makes it more impressive.  Also has pens.

Swansea (A)
Stoke (H)
Man Utd (A)
Crystal Palace (H)
Liverpool (H)
Huddersfield (A)

Vardy

I think Puel’s negative counter attack tactics should benefit Vardy and certainly having Mahrez as a number 10 should as well.  Broke his run of 3 blanks to score against Everton in the first game of Puels reign.  Nothing wrong with the underlying stats overall but he has struggled to break down deep sitting teams.  It will be interesting to see if Puel and Mahrez change that

Stoke (A)
Man City (H)
West Ham (A)
Spurs (H)
Burnley (H)
Newcastle (A)

Abraham

4 goals and an assist in 9 starts isn’t too bad for the price.  Underlying stats are also ok if not spectacular.

3 good fixtures next are the attraction

 Brighton (H)
Burnley (A)
Bournemouth (H)
Chelsea (A)
Stoke (A)
West Brom (H)

Lacazette

The next 2 fixtures have negatively impacted his rankings.  He has generally been pretty inconsistent with his returns and underlying stats though

Man City (A)
Spurs (H)
Burnley (A)
Huddersfield (H)
Man Utd (H)
Southampton (A)
