FPL gameweek 35 wildcard tips – the FFGeek and Alex Ball guest imaginary wildcards

Fantasy Premier League, imaginary wildcard

Here’s our FPL gameweek 35 wildcard tips article where we pretend we are using our wildcard.   The article gives player suggestions with more longevity than just for the up coming gameweek.  We also have a guest imaginary wildcard from Alex Ball who has been thinking of using his.

 FPL gameweek 35 wildcard tips

A short week this week so no links to fall back on as usual. So a little more words than usual.  The team assumes you have a bench boost to think about

 The team

Just to warn you the value is around £106m.  It is meant to be a menu of players as well as an imaginary wildcard

Structure

I’m going to assume that the bench boost chip is still intact here so the idea is to get:

11 players out in GW35

As close to 15 DGW37 players as possible although, as always, the idea is to get the most points out of GW37 whether they are single or double gameweekers

Manchester City

Although only Pep knows what he’s going to do with the remaining games but it’s quite possible to put forward a theory that the full City team will be out at home in celebration of winning the league in GW35 but then with the league won rotation and rest will take place.

Given that theory then,  the GW35 Man City team and the DGW37 teams could be marginally or even drastically different.  So therefore to me the City players now will be the focus of the 2 transfers before GW37.  That could mean say Kompany to Laporte and Sterling to Bernardo as the future transfers.  With Aguero injured (it seems to the end of the season but who really knows how long for in the information vacuum that is Man City) Jesus looks safe

Liverpool

A UCL semi between 35 and 36 and another between 36 and 37.  However, Liverpools fixtures are good despite not having a DGW37 they should still pick up decent points as a team.  Rotation could be an issue and is a definite risk.  Liverpool have a GW35 but don’t have a double gameweek 37.

I’m sticking with Salah for the moment as he’s just too dangerous player to leave out even if he doesn’t play every game.

I’ve gone for Alexander Arnold purely for value and he faces competition now from Gomez who could conceivably play in GW35.  Clyne seems out for the gameweek.  TAA is risky play and if you have the cash I think Van Dijk could be safer but it’s difficult to predict.

Arsenal

2 EL semis in the same weeks as the Liverpool ones.

The issue here again is rotation and the EL being the only way Arsenal can qualify for the Champions League next season.  Premier league teams have been considerably weaker than the EL Arsenal teams.

Aubameyang is cup tied and ineligible for the EL.  However, there were some words that he may not start in GW35 to help preparation.  However being cup tied means he is still the obvious pick and in a wildcard situation I would still gamble on the number of games to be played.

The rest

The bench for GW35 would be De Gea, Kane, Chilwell and Cedric so 11 players in a 3-5-2 formation for GW35 although there are some selection issues as above.

DGW37 would see 12 DGW37 players with Kane as captain.  Zaha, Alexander Arnold and Salah are the exceptions .  I chose Zaha for budget and because he has a good fixture in 37 home to WBA.

Just a reminder that Kenedy will be ineligible for GW38 as he is a Chelsea player.

Alex Ball’s imaginary wildcard team

Alex still has his wildcard and has been tinkering with using it but I think in the end he won’t.  Here was his latest tinkering for a bit of food for thought.  Again he assumed a bench boost left.
