FPL Gameweek 37 wildcard tips – the FFGeek imaginary wildcard

Fantasy Premier League, imaginary wildcard

Here’s our FPL gameweek 37 wildcard tips article where we pretend we are using our wildcard. The article gives player suggestions with more longevity than just for the up coming gameweek.

FPL GAMEWEEK 37 WILDCARD TIPS – THE FFGEEK IMAGINARY WILDCARD

This article brings together the various earlier articles in the week.

The below article is short and there are no stats. I’ve given links to articles below with all the detailed stats for the GW37 players you’ll need if you want to investigate a player in more detail.

Player rankings defence and GK

Player rankings midfielders

Forward player rankings

There’s also our fixture ease article which gives player suggestions with good fixtures. You can also see who the popular transfers are in our bandwagons article.  There’s also Rob Reids player picks and the DGW37 basic info sheet

THE IMAGINARY WC TEAM

Remember if you’re wildcarding this week you can’t use another chip. The article is mainly to assist in player selection and not as a real life wildcard as it is over budget at around £106m

Here’s the team.  If you’re wildcarding then you can’t be bench boosting so it’s a normal gameweek

Goalkeepers

De Gea is the obvious choice for Man Utd defensive representation.  Hennessey is a relatively cheap back up and has WBA at home in 38 if De Gea is inexplicably rested.

Defenders

I’ve gone for 2 premium defenders in Vertonghen and Alonso who I think have good clean sheet prospects.  I didn’t mention Alonso in my GW37 basic info sheet and I think in retrospect I should have.

Then I decided to take a punt on Danilo as Walker looks doubtful for the weekend although hopefully Pep can be bothered giving us some information in his press conference

The 2 others were just cheap DGW players in Chilwell and Dummett.

Midfielders

The money spent upfront meant some compromises in midfield.  Sterling was the first pick and then with Man Utd’s fixtures being ok I dragged in Pogba.  I prefer Lingard but the gametime issues just make him too risky.

Tadic apart from his 2 goals has shown some underlying stats form in the last few games so he went in as a punt.  I’ve gone for Arnautovic as the other midfielder although with Willian starting in the FA Cup semi he is another option although he is a sub and benching risk.

Kenedy is the bench cheapie although remember he is ineligible v Chelsea in GW38

Forwards

The reason I spent the majority of the cash up front is that in Jesus and Aubameyang you have the 2 players that you feel will play 3 games each which doesn’t exist to the same degree with any certainty in the attacking players of Man City and Arsenal.

Kane despite looking sluggish as Joe points out in his GW36 review is a hard player to ignore for a DGW

Salah

I think if I was wildcarding now I probably wouldn’t put Salah in but rely on a -4 to get him back in GW38 if I felt he was needed.
