FPL pre-season 22 July games – Everton, Huddersfield, Liverpool, Man Utd and Wolves

Firstly here are links to the pre-season games and lineups article part 1 and part 2 as background.  This will be updated on Friday.  You can also see our key players from the promoted teams article

Porto 1 Everton 0

Another game with nothing in it of interest from an attacking point of view and nothing that helps us figure which £4.5m CB of Jagielka, Williams or Holgate will start alongside Keane

Darmstatd 1 Huddersfield 1

Having played on the Saturday the teams have been mixed up so nothing again lineup wise.  £6.0m fwd Mounie scored and was lively which is a good sign.

Dortmund 3 Liverpool 1

The attacking lineup resembles nothing like the GW1 side so ignore that.  The hunt for the £5.0m defender saw £5.0m CB Matip start beside Van Dijk and Robertson with £5.0m Clyne taking the RB spot.  TAA is still on leave.

San Jose 0 Man Utd 0

An injury to Valencia after 8 minutes was the unfortunate news from this game although maybe not from an FPL perspective given his price.  The extent is unknown but it means £5.0m Darmian if he’s still a Man Utd player or Fosu Mensah will have to play RB if it is serious.  The defence continues to look like £6.0m Smalling, £5.5m Bailly and £5.0m Shaw plus an RB.

In attack only Martial Herrera and Sanchez started who look like GW1 contenders.  Martial was the CF but faded after a reasonable start.  Sanchez was the star with his customary all action performance.

Bochum 0 Wolves 0 & Betis 0 Wolves 0

Two 45 minute games with 2 mixed teams.  The good news was that £4.5m GK Patricio started and £5.5m fwd Jimenez also started after their World Cup returns.

That’s it if you’ve seen the games or  can offer more insight than above please do so in the comments area below.
