FPL probable lineups GW1 part 2 – Leicester to Wolves
Here is what I think the potential lineups will be given the current information. You can see part 1 Arsenal to Huddersfield with this link. I would rather have done this on Friday when the press conferences will happen but given the Friday night deadline for GW1 it’s not feasible to be trying to write it up then. What it does mean is that you will still need to check your lineups against the press conferences of the managers.
As opposed to the earlier lineup articles where I put the lineups in code I’ve taken a screenshot of the image as the code seemed to cause problems for some.
It is an incredibly laborious task going through the pre-season fixtures and the injury information to come up with a lineup and it’s obviously impossible to get it 100% right. Please be patient and if you have any information to add please put it in the comments column.
Where I don’t think the position is certain I’ve included more than one player and underneath the image tried to outline the main injuries and significant issues
Leicester
Only significant injury is to Jonny Evans with no return date. He will ultimately take Morgans place and Maguire Benalounes. Gray is also a doubt. Either of Gray, Maddison or Iheanacho could make way. Gray would be most likely for me
Vardy and Maguire look like they will miss out GW1. Vardy will come back into the side but how is the complication.
Liverpool
Matip is ruled out.
There are a number of World Cup returner issues. Lovren for Gomez. TAA to battle Clyne for RB. Henderson for the midfield 3 and Firmino will come back as CF.
Man City
Danilo is ruled out and Laporte is a doubt.
De Bruyne and Sterling are the main World Cup returners but who they will displace is tricky but despite Pep’s words I suspect Bernardo will be one. I’ve assumed David Silva will start despite his CS no show. Pep could go 2 up front with Jesus as well.
Man Utd
Herrera, Bailly are doubts. Matic and Valencia are ruled out with no return dates.
Lukaku, Pogba, Lingard and Young are the main World Cup returners who are all doubtful.
Newcastle
Lejeune is ruled out.
Kenedy has had little pre-season due to his partner giving birth so unsure if he will lineup.
Southampton
Cedric and Yoshida are the World Cup returners who are doubts.
Selection is tough with an unpredictable pre-season
Spurs
Wanyama is an injury doubt. Son will go to the Asian games.
Where do you start though on World Cup returners
Kane, Alli, Dier, Vertonghen, Alderweireld, Trippier, Lloris, Rose Dembele all to return
Watford
Chalobah, Deulofeu, Doucoure and Kaboul are all doubtful to varying degrees. Very difiicult to predict a lineup due to the bloated squad. Gray and Pereya seem the main certainties in attack
West Ham
Carroll, Reid and Lanzini ruled out.
Yarmalenko is doubtful but if ready would probably come in for Chicharito or Antonio. Arnautovic has to be favourite to play CF but it can’t be 100%. The CB position is pretty uncertain due to chopping and changing in pre-season.
Wolves
It all should be straight forward apart from the RW position and whether Bennett or Saiss play CB.
