FPL TEAMS GW12 – FFGEEK CONTRIBUTORS SHOW THEIR TEAMS

Here’s a reduced version of the 10 or so FPL managers who contribute to the FFGeek site with good histories who show their teams each week. This will give people a feel for what other managers are doing. It’s a fairly informal thing with no obligation on anyone and these teams may change at anytime before the deadline without further notice. It also wont covering early transfers. It’s just to give an idea of the trends for the week no more.

GW11 review

An ok gw11 in the end but could have been even better. Let’s start with the big negative – defence. 6 points; half from keeper Elliot was a terrible return. This was made even more frustrating by benching clean sheets from Duffy and Ward; the final kick in the teeth being Davies’ 1 point 1 minute cameo for Spurs. Curse you Poch!

Next up it was another captain blank from Kane. The fixture looked great on paper and unfortunately went to form for Kane this season. Lukaku also blanked which wasn’t surprising.

Now the good stuff – all my midfielders returned with Salah the star of the show. Richarlison was unlucky not to get more after Cleverly bungled a late penalty. There were also handy assists for Sterling and EMCM. Great work from the midfield.

Morata also scored against difficult opposition. Again big smiles here. Chelsea have some great fixtures coming up so bodes well for steady returns I’m hoping.

It’s no transfers for me this week, unusual after an international window! I had planned to bring in Jones for the suspended Otamendi but his injury scuppered that. I’m conscious I’ll need Utd defensive cover soon but am in a better position with 2fts so I’ll take the pain of a likely missed clean sheet against Newcastle on the nose.

Team picks itself otherwise. Simpson and King benched vs City. Hopefully Sterling is fit and Davies will start vs Arsenal. I’m backing Lukaku with the armband this week, despite his recent lack of domestic form – goals for Belgium last week bodes well and he has a good past record versus Newcastle.

Good luck this week everyone. Hope your arrows are green. I’ll be following the updates from sunny Marrakech – I’ll just rub that in one more time :-)

Form v fixtures. That’s my captains dilemma this week. I’ve been on Lukaku all week but sorely tempted by the form of Kane (away from Home), Salah and Morata. But Kaka has a plumb fixture against a depleted Newcastle defence. Hopefully I’m not screaming about Blankaku on Sunday!

No transfers this week as I contemplate a change to 3-5-2 in 2 weeks so holding the transfer will help to facilitate this.

The team picks itself. I expect Kiko to come in for Jones but who knows if Jose is being honest! Seems a good time to give him a rest though.

Sorry it’s brief, busy day. Green arrows all round! Good luck.

I really wanted to get Morata in — was thinking Davies could make way for a cheaper defender like Dunk or Francis. But I didn’t want to take a hit. I want to have the comfort of 2 FTs next week and I’m in no rush, can afford price declines from both Davies and Vardy without losing team value, so totally OK to wait for Morata’s really juicy fixtures starting in GW14. Giving Vardy another chance then.

Also considered tripling City mids (Sane in for Choupo), but that would require major surgery. Might sell either Silva or Sterling to get Sane in, depending on game time/injuries. Kane (c)

I hope David Luiz start as I have two non-starting defenders. Considering taking a hit to bring in Dunk or Wimmer for Mbemba, but decided to wait a week.

As I had feared, Gameweek 11 was not kind to Cesspool FC. I scored an average 44 and lost 12,000 in OR to break a streak of seven consecutive green arrows.

I am keeping faith with the Big 3 up front—Kane, Lukaku and Morata. Hopefully Kane is mended from his injury due to his skipping the England matches over the international break. Lukaku scored a brace for Belgium during the break; I can hope that his form and Newcastle at Old Trafford will bring at least a goal. Finally, Morata looked good in his outing against United last gameweek, so he also appears to have recovered from his hamstring problem. If Lukaku continues to falter I will plan to ship him out in two weeks before the rush of holiday games, probably to upgrade one of my 4.5 mids to Sterling and go with a budget third striker. The excess funds would also allow me to add another premium defender to Otamendi and Jones the following week.

Only one transfer this week. Cedric out and Daniels in. Regular site visitors may have seen a comment I made about NOT acquiring Bournemouth assets week before last, but the 1-0 away victory at Newcastle convinced me that they still have the ability to grind out 1-0 victories and 0-0 draws against lesser sides—just like they did last year. With the upcoming schedule HUD, swa, BURN, SOU & cry I think Daniels, now down to 4.8, is a good replacement for my 5.0 defender slot. He offers potential attacking points and clean sheets. I considered spending 5.7 for Trippier, but will wait a week to see what Spurs defensive rotations look like when they visit Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund.

Otamendi sits but I still have four excellent defender choices: Daniels (HUD), Ward (SWA), Jones (NEW) & Moreno (SOU). Mids are Salah , Choupo and Sane.

Captain choice—ugh it is so hard this week. Will watch the polls and I usually go with Geek’s suggestion. Probably Kane, Salah or Lukaku, no surprise there. I am not even leaning one way or another as I write this on Wednesday.

Good luck to all provided you are not passing me!
