FPL TEAMS GW14 – FFGEEK CONTRIBUTORS SHOW THEIR TEAMS

Here’s a version of the 10 or so FPL managers who contribute to the FFGeek site with good histories who show their teams each week. This will give people a feel for what other managers are doing. It’s a fairly informal thing with no obligation on anyone and these teams may change at anytime before the deadline without further notice. It also wont covering early transfers. It’s just to give an idea of the trends for the week no more.

There’s also the early FFGeek team thoughts article if you’re interested in my team and how the teams of 10 top FPL managers I follow are currently set up

A pretty underwhelming week on the face of things off the back of 2 blanking free transfers and only 4/11 returns. However it did ultimately yield a green arrow thanks to a returning captain and Sterling producing his Sunday best. Maybe I’m being a bit negative!

It was another defensive let-down; an own goal and only 5 points between 4 players. That’s 2 clean sheets now in the last 4 gameweeks – poor.

The main points were in midfield again. An assist from Richarlison, yet another Salah goal and a nice 13 points from Sterling. New signing Pogba was the only blank though should have scored just before half-time.

Up front it was a sigh of relief for captain Kane as he scored and bagged 2 bonus points for a 16 point haul. Morata blanked though away to Liverpool is tough. My second transfer Wilson also blanked against Swansea which, like Pogba was disappointing.

Onto GW14 in a hurry and it’s surgery time for my defence. My first move will be to get Chelsea cover – they’ve got a dream run of fixtures right up to GW28. I therefore consider defensive cover a priority. Alonso and Dave are the obvious draws but expensive. Christensen at 5.4m is a snip, I just worry about gametime, especially with the festive programme approaching. Courtois at 5.4m is another good option – game time secure but no bps or attacking potential.

It’s a tough call, but I’ve gone for Dave for game time security, he comes in for Davies. Hopefully he might get some bps along the way! After that, I then plan to carry my next ft so I get 2fts post-ucl round 6.

For my team, Ward, EMCM and Simpson will be benched, Morata captain. I’ll post on Twitter if I change my mind at all. Good luck all, may your arrows be green!

GW13 Summary

It’s fair to say that GW13 was not an unlucky one for me. As stated in last week’s article, I was aiming to be residing in the top 100k by Christmas. 78 points, a GW rank of 2,400 & green arrow of around 180k means that I’ve already comfortably achieved that goal! 8/11 of my players returned and I finally got a Wembley goal from captain Kane. Weeks like this don’t happen too often so I’m hoping to build on it during the busy December schedule.

GW14 Team

I saved my transfer last week which has given me the opportunity to be more aggressive in the transfer market for GW14. Therefore, I made the decision to move away from the big 3 up top and shift some more money into midfield. I have been eyeing up Chelsea’s fixtures for a while now and it seems the perfect time to bring their main man in. Therefore, I have decide to ditch Tom Carroll and the out-of-form Lukaku for Hazard and Niasse. I am aware that the Everton man is suspended but I think he’s the best cheap striker option considering that he is priced at around 1mil less than the likes of Wilson and Murray. In theory, he shouldn’t be required this week anyway as Loftus-Cheek is showing some great form.

I still have some slight issues at the back with the injured Jones and rotation-prone Davies. As the less likely to play in the near future, I will be removing Jones this week as I feel that I need to boost my defence and then I will look to transfer out Davies next gameweek. I have two options for this; either bring in a cheaper defender this week and then Alonso on the weekend or go for two ‘premium’ defenders. I slightly favour the balance that the latter option gives me so I will be bringing in Kolasinac on Tuesday (unless there’s any strange news during the day) and monitoring Christensen with a view to bring in him or Otamendi in GW15.

As for the captaincy decision, there seems to be some great options on paper. Kane, Morata and Salah all have the potential to score big this week, but I will be placing the armband on my big transfer in, Hazard. The draw of a midfielder on penalties and his ability to pick up bonus points is just too much; a penalty could easily be enough to bring in a double-digit score.

Hope everyone enjoys the midweek games and best of luck to all; may your arrows be green!

CESSPOOL

Last season he finished in 21k overall rank.

GW13 points: 54 (average 43) Total Points: 789 Overall Rank: 7k Team Value £104.0m green arrow 1k

A week that could have been. Otamendi own goal and Ward losing a clean sheet in the last 20 seconds of extra time ruined a better score. I did manage to eke out a small rank increase.

This week, I am doing two transfers with a -4 hit. Lukaku out and Niasse in; Stevens out and Hazard in who will be my captain. I like Chelsea’s fixtures and him playing at forward or a number 10. Niasse comes off suspension next week in the middle of a decent run of Everton fixtures as well. I feel I have my team set up for December but will look at Richarlison or Gross in for Choupo and perhaps a goalkeeper upgrade of some kind.

I’m also more than likely to do  Naughton to Alonso but that depends on nothing unusual coming out of  Conte press conference

This week I am taking a 8 point hit. I am going to insert Hazard, Morata and Otamendi for Lukaku, Alli, and Valencia.

For me Alli has been a miss this year and I know I will hate it but I feel that his luck has been very bad as Spurs have not been playing well as a unit in the last third. I feel like the 8 point hit is worth it if None of the three will be rotated over the next 3 gameweeks. I also believe that they are due some big scores for Chelsea over the next month or so barring rotation as their next tough fixture for me is Arsenal in GW22 and then Arsenal in GW28 that is a long stretch that I am hoping pays off…
