With Man City now rolling, and Aguero looking happy and confident, I wanted to bring in both offensive and defensive Man City cover for its game against Palace. Given that two transfers would cause me to take a hit, and being dissatisfied with the allocation of funds among players on my team, I decided to play my wildcard early– to get Aguero at 11.4 and Otamendi at 5.5, believing their prices would rise by Saturday game time. Aguero is now at 11.6 and Otamendi at 5.6.

Keepers

Foster out and Fabianski in. Foster and West Brom have done well but four of their next eight games are against top 6 contending teams. Swansea’s schedule looks very good with WAT, HUD,LEI, BRI and BURN at home in the next eight.

Speroni out Elliott in. I avoided Elliott originally because Benitez was trying to bring in Adrian and I feared a price drop. Elliott is pure gold at 4.1 in my opinion.

Defenders:

Bailly out Phil Jones in. Some rotation risk for Jones but the price differential is too good not to accept.

Mee out Ward in. Swap of Burnley defenders trying to get assists and BPS.

Mariappa out, Otamendi in. Would have liked Mendy or Walker, but the extra 1M would mean downgrading Cedric to a 4.5 or Atsu to Loftus Cheek and having no money left over.

Monreal stays due to Arsenanl’s better play and pretty easy schedule over the next five games (WBA, BRI,what, eve,SWA) . Cedric may stay–considering Cresswell at the same price for his offensive prowess and West Ham’s new-found resilience. Southhampton’s fixtures between GW 7(sto,NEW, WBA,bri, BURN) are pretty tempting though and Southampton’s defenders are in virtually all teams that I follow.

All in all I plan to play four defenders each week and even 5..

Midfielders:

Retaining Choupo-Moting, Salah, Mkhi and Atsu. Dumped Carroll for Andrew Surman who appears to be getting more forward than Carroll as a cheap enabler.

Forwards:

As I said up top, Aguero in, Kane out. If Kane does well I will get him back in GW 8. I am keeping Lukaku due to good form, good team, good service and HIGH ownership. Firmino dropped in favor of Morata who looks very skilled to me and is in front of goal as much as any forward, plus he gives me some Chelsea cover whose fixtures turn better soon.

This team is well balanced in my view with excellent representation from top teams. I do not have Spurs cover but can get Kane in easily by swapping out Morata or I can trade either Monreal or Cedric for Trippier, whose place seems secure in PL games at least for now, or Davies who comes at a .3M premium.

Any observations and suggestions are welcome.
