FPL Tips GW8 – The remaining FFGeek contributors show their teams

Fantasy Premier League

Here’s our FPL tips GW8 article where the remaining FFGeek contributors show us their team before the transfer deadline.  There’s Joseph, Shayne, Keith, FPL word and Mikael L. Danielsen. All these FPL managers finished in at least the top 0.5% last season.

FPL Tips GW8 – The remaining FFGeek contributors show their teams

We’re continuing in the series where 10 or so FPL managers who contribute to the FFGeek site with good histories show their teams before the gameweek deadline. This will give people a feel for what other managers are doing. It’s a fairly informal thing with no obligation on anyone and these teams may subsequently change at anytime before the deadline without further notice. It also wont cover early transfers. It’s just to give an idea of the trends for the week no more. There will also be times when people don’t produce their teams for whatever reason.

Is there a more excitable group of people than FPL managers before a gameweek after an international break!? This manager is certainly looking forward to the return of the Premier League and fortunately I’ve had the entertainment of communication with managers using their wildcards to give me my FPL fix. Nonetheless, the time finally came to look at my team. A quick note on last week when I registered a decent score of 68 points but only four of my players actually picked up a fantasy return with Kane and Davies combining for 42 points alone in the Saturday lunch time game.

The injury to Morata was a particularly painful moment with Chelsea facing Palace this week and his replacement has been my main issue. I contemplated bringing in Vardy but decided that I wanted to stay with three premium strikers as I still believe that this is the best strategy. Moreover, with Aguero and Morata approaching fitness sooner than expected, I could well want one or both of them back in my team in the near future. The Spaniard is definitely one who’s fitness I will be closely monitoring as I believe he is the best Chelsea attacking option.

Back to this week, and I’ve brought Jesus into my team. The news on Thursday about Aguero being in training wasn’t ideal but I’d be shocked if he was ready to start again so soon after his car accident. Jesus is very much a placeholder for me and therefore looks a good short-term punt for my team considering the fixtures. Naturally, I am slightly worried about his minutes but I’m hopeful that he can return enough points during his time on the pitch.

I have also decided that Mkhitaryan’s time has come to an end in my team. His output has dramatically dropped off during the last four gameweeks and I feel that there are better options in his price bracket. Specifically, the City midfield looks full of good options at the moment and it’s been tough choosing between them. I narrowed it down to Sterling and Silva in the end and ultimately went for the former. He’s been getting consistent minutes and returns in the Premier League, posing a much greater goal threat than Silva. The main factor that swung is for me was price though as I have gained 0.5mil which I’m planning to use to upgrade Brady to Richarlison in the near future, most likely GW10.

Captain will be Kane, no surprises there, and surely this is the week that he ends the ‘Wembley curse’. For those interested, he has also scored 6 goals in 3 games against Bournemouth who are this week’s opposition so here’s hoping for more goals from him!. And on that note, best of luck to everyone this week!

I was tempted to use my W/C during this international break but looking over my team and possible transfers, i didn’t find it necessary although I did take a -4 point hit.
So my transfers were Salah out and Coutinho in and Morata out with Jesus in, with Mane ruled out i expect Coutinho to play even more of an attacking role and with Aguero out, Jesus will surly be a Guaranteed starter in pep’s rotating Man city team.

I have gone with Jesus as my captain this gameweek as City have scored 11 goals in there 3 home games this season so far.

Good luck everyone! Here’s my GW8 team

I have Jesus as a placeholder for Morata who could be back sooner than expected.
Morata has drop 0.1 in value while Jesus has increased 0.2, and Morata might drop once more before deadline

I also had Fellaini and Jones but changed to Wimmer and Choupo-Moting when Fellaini got injured.
I started with Monreal, but with Arsenals injuries in their defence I decided to transfer Monreal out for Stones and downgrade Wimmer to Martina.

Pope and Ward from Burnley have been impressive.

Davies is a must have even with Rose back in training.

Silva is nailed and keep petting assist, Richarlison have great attacking potential. Coutinho will play more advanced with Mane out.

Kane nailed and cap, Lukaku nailed and keep returning, Jesus as placeholder for Morata when he is fit (GW 9?)

When I switch Jesus to Morata I can upgrade King to RLC. Their fixtures clear up, and Zaha is close to a return, so I think he is a good shout.

I might also upgrade Martina to Wimmer, Yedlin or Kiko for the Jesus money

Thanks to all the contributors above and good luck.
