You will notice extensive changes to the first draft as I realised that this team will just be around until the end of gameweek 4. By then, the World Cup stars will be back in shape and the new managers will have indicated their favoured starting XI.

I freed up some money from the defence and midfield so that I can get both Aguero and Abaumeyang into the team. Both show high ownership, as does Salah, so that will be helpful to hedging against any drops in rank. Salah will be the captain, at least that I didn’t have to contemplate!

I wasn’t particularly impressed by Sane’s performance in the Community Shield, so I chose the cheaper Bernardo Silva. Hopefully he will chip in with some assists, and if not I will take another City midfielder once I see how Pep will sort out his options.

That’s all for now, can’t wait for the season to kick off and best of luck to everyone!

Joe Armigers updated team

Joe finished with an OR of 1k last season and 15k the season before

Here’s his original article in interview form

Several changes from the draft I posted last week and I am still not happy. I have held out as long as I could before posting this team as the transfer window closing at 5pm on Thursday will I’m sure throw up more dilemmas

Goalkeepers:

Ederson has been in my plans all summer because I think he gives the best in to the City defence at a cheap price

I am reliably formed by Tom Bourne that Ben Hamer has a good chance of being the Huddersfield number 1 and at £4.0m worth a punt

Defence:

I have had the biggest change of heart here simply because Mendy looked full of threat in the community shield and I feel he offers a more guaranteed starting birth than some of the City attackers

Gomez gives me the most affordable route into the Liverpool defence and once the season settles down either he, Lovren or TAA will be my £5.0 million Liverpool defender

Daniels and Tomkins are sure starters at least until September and Wan-Bissaka is a good bet to start at £4.0m cost

Midfield:

I have decided to double up on Salah and Mane who are basically forwards who guarantee goals and I am confident in Fulham so Schurrle and Cairney are affordable but promising options.

Forwards:

Aguero and Aubameyang speak for themselves and Wood’s goalscoring record alongside Burnley’s easy fixture list make him a good each way bet

Good luck for the weekend

Yaniv Salomon’s updated team

Yaniv finished with an 8k OR last season.  Here’s his original team article

Hi all, above is my latest update on my team.  I  did some adjustments in defence due to the  Bailly uncertainty to start in GW1 although I still think that he is the best defender in the United squad.

I changed Bailly, Robertson and Cedric to Luiz, Shaw and TAA, as Shaw is, for the short term, the cheapest way into the United defence. Luiz was also the cheapest way into the Chelsea defence for now, although he didn’t play well at all on Sunday. I changed Robertson to TAA for 2 reasons, first, as time passed this week, the chances of TAA starting in GW1 increased significantly, second, I became a little worried because of Moreno good showings in preseason + nice goal last week + he started in Liverpool match vs Torino while Robertson came in after half time.

By those changes I have now (with Ederson) 5 defenders from the  top 6 side teams instead of 4 before. I think I won’t change anything in my attacking players till tomorrow.

PS I am waiting to bring Yerry Mina into my squad if his price isn’t more than £5.0m.  I think he can score big from defence, as his all career record set a goal for each 6 matches (including international games)!

Good luck to all of us , it’s a big excitement to start the new season, and good luck to all my friends and rivals in the best mini league in Israel “The Sterilizer’s Pigeons League”
