Here’s my Barclays fantasy premier league team for game week 18. 2 transfers made
Last week I ignored my self imposed rule of doing 2 transfers every 2 weeks and did a late transfer of Glen Johnson in. That got my fantasy premier league team an assist but I didn’t look forward enough and now the fear of Manchester City and the ultimate flat track bully of Tevez undoing all my painstaking work to get to 26k in the overall table at home to Reading was too much. I took a 4 point hit to transfer out Demba Ba and Fellaini to put in Jason Puncheon and Tevez. Again there’s no way I would usually transfer out someone like Ba at home to QPR but QPR’s defence has put in a few reasonable performances recently and Ba’s fixtures are Man Utd and Arsenal away after that game. While there’s a good chance Tevez wont play the thought of him rolling up and scoring 20 points as everyones captain was just too much and a 4 point hit seems like a price worth paying to avoid this. The tendency to follow the most dangerous captain is one of my biggest failings in Barclasy fantasy premier league and caused me a lot of problems early in the season. I have consciously tried to fight the temptation of doing this but this was too much. Puncheon should need no justification. He’s 8th in the season shooting stats and 2nd in the last 6 against a background of having the 7th easiest fixtures. He’s also £4.8m and home to the worst away defence of Sunderland. Here’s the full team and good luck to all fantasy football geeks in Barclays fantasy premier league game week 18
