My little Nuts – first head to head game completed

My Little Nuts

My first head to head match has completed for the new fantasy football game My Little Nuts.  Here’s how I did plus a few lessons learnt and the team for this week.   The French version has 450,000 players and their app is #1 for sports in France. It’s now available for the English premier league

My little Nuts – first head to head game completed

If you haven’t seen my earlier post about the rules of My Little Nuts or my first draft team then here’s a very quick background on our partner game.

In very simple terms it’s a blind auction draft game where you and a small group of friends bid for a minimum 18 players. You compete with league members in a weekly head to head contest scoring points by goals and through a number of other events such as the usual assists and clean sheets plus other more detailed stats such as tackles, passes, recoveries etc etc. These are then converted into virtual goals. There are 3 competitions, the premier league, La Liga and Ligue 1. The length of the contests can be anything from 1.5 to 4 months.

The first head to head

I got roundly thrashed in he first head to head 5-1.  The opponent had Aguero who actually came off the bench so that gave him 3 goals

Here’s the summary and you can see the 2 teams.  I thought since the game is French based I’d give my team a french name so they are the Guingamp Geeks

So what did I learn from that game?

Firstly there are various ways of earning bonuses which are named things like the WTF suitcase which change the points of the game.  I didn’t realise you had to play these before the game started.  That’s a lesson learnt and I will be doing that this week.

I also learnt that the game is all about goals and despite there being a load of ways of earning bonus points to get what’s known as “virtual goals”.  There were only 5 players in total over the 3 matches that earned virtual goals.  Goals are everything, clean sheets and assists aren’t as significant as other formats.  So focus your cash on goal scorers.  All 3 of my defenders got clean sheets but none earned a virtual goal.  Not that it would have mattered but a lesson learned.

There are useful tactical substitutions which you can do by forcing a sub if the player has a rating of say 6 or under.  My opponent did this for Aguero to take over  Morata for a rating of 6 or more.  I’m surprised he played Morata home to Arsenal rather than Aguero at Watford but there you go he got him off the bench with a tactical substitution.  So that’s a real handy no lose scenario.

I’ve also chosen 1 of the 4 bonus options of reducing the other teams goals by 1

I decided to only do the 1 tactical substitution and that was for Benteke.  I can’t see anything good coming from the others except reducing my ratings.  By the way all you need to do for a tactical substitution is put the rating in the box that is the level that will see a substitution for.  It’s also worth noting that tacticals only happen after regular subs for missing players.

So some good games and some bad games this week.  The 2 Watford players are at Swansea which is a good match up.  Lacazette is home to WBA.  Dele Alli is away to West Ham.  That 4 out of 7 with good fixtures

Mahrez plays Liverpool which is an unpredictable one.  Benteke is away to Man City which is definitely tricky and Mkhitaryan away to a defensive Southampton.

My opponents team

Here’s my opponents team:

It doesn’t look good for me.  The only thing even close to a weakness is Bony and he has Firmino to come on for him.  Even his defence has goals written all over it. Everyone has good fixtures.  I think it might be another tough head to head match

That’s it I’ll report back after my game this weekend
