New fantasy football game – “my little nuts” GW2 completed

My Little Nuts

Gameweek 2 and my 2nd head to head has completed for the new fantasy football game My Little Nuts. Here’s how I did and the team for this week. The French version has 450,000 players and their app is #1 for sports in France. It’s now available for the English premier league

If you haven’t seen my earlier post about the rules of My Little Nuts or my first draft team then here’s a very quick background on our partner game.

In very simple terms it’s a blind auction draft game where you and a small group of friends bid for a minimum 18 players. You compete with league members in a weekly head to head contest scoring points by goals and through a number of other events such as the usual assists and clean sheets plus other more detailed stats such as tackles, passes, recoveries etc etc. These are then converted into virtual goals. There are 3 competitions, the premier league, La Liga and Ligue 1. The length of the contests can be anything from 1.5 to 4 months.  I’m in a league of 6.

I’ve done 3 articles so far if you want to know more about the game.  The first is on the rules, the 2nd is the blind auction and the 3rd my first head to head

GW2 and the 2nd head to head

So thanks to Alexandre Lacazette I got my first win 3-1.

Here’s the summary and you can see most of the 2 teams. You may have seen last week that since the game is French based I’d give my team a french name so they are the Guingamp Geeks

So what did I learn from that game?

So last week I didn’t play any of the bonuses as I didn’t understand that these had to be put in place before the games started.  This time I used the one that I thought was best, the “WTF Suitcase” which cancels out a goal. That came in handy although wasn’t the factor that decided it.  Lacazette decided it with 2 goals in the game against WBA.

In this gameweek the importance of virtual goals was even less.  There were only 2 virtual goals in the 3 games played to add to last weeks 5 virtual goals despite their being a raft of statistics determining them.  No defender has earned one yet and as clean sheets or assists don’t convert to goals, it’s the scoring players who score goals are what you should be focusing on. Dele Alli didn’t get me a virtual goal for 2 assists for example.  The next time I play I won’t be bothered with spending money on defenders that’s for sure.  I will focus my spending on goal scorers.

I’ve also got a decent amount of injuries and a thin squad.  I think it’s worth trying to get a big squad to cover for that as there’s no transfer options after your squad has been put together unless you play in expert mode where you can pay for additional transfers. After you’ve put a core of goal scorers together then try for a bigger squad of cheap players so at least you’re putting a team out

As my squads rather thin I haven’t got a particular need for tactical substitutions.  These are where you can name a substitute if a player rates less than a given rating number.  6 is a number to use.  I just did it for Benteke in case Batshuayi came on and did something but he didn’t.  It’s a bit risky as players can score and play badly so I’m using it more sparingly than some of the other managers

THIS WEEK

My lineup

 my little nuts

I didn’t realise that you could only use the WTF suitcase once so I’ve gone for the magic doc on Mahrez for an additional rating point.  What that will do I have no idea but I’ll give it a try

I’ve done 2 tactical substiutions.  Normal substitutions take priority so if Lewis Cook doesn’t play the first is irrelevant.  Batshuayi again is just in case he scores as a sub.  There seems less chance of him starting or scoring than Lewis Cook which is why I’ve done that

So some good fixtures this week.  Dele Alli at Huddersfield, Mahrez at Bournemouth, Mkhitaryan home to Palace and Lacazette home to Brighton.  Even the 2 Watford lads away to WBA isn’t a terminal fixture.

My opponents team

My opponent this week has yet to set his lineup but this was his team last weekend.  If he doesn’t set his lineup then I’m guaranteed to win as he will get at least -1 goal penalty

That’s it I’ll report back after my game this weekend
