Sky Sports fantasy football – Bonus Bankers by Sky Pundit Ameé Ruszkai

As the Premier League enters its final stretch, who can give your Sky Sports Fantasy Football team the edge needed to win your league says Sky Sports fantasy football’s Ameé Ruszkai

Bonus points could be the telling difference, and it’s because of those extra points that the likes of Mohamed Salah, Harry Kane and Nicholas Otamendi are flying high in the game.

Those three all feature among the players topping the game’s five bonus charts – for saves, shots, tackles, passes and man of the match awards. But there a couple of surprise names in their company, as we look at this season’s bonus kings.

Most shots: Harry Kane

Perhaps the least surprising name on this list, and for the least surprising reason: the Premier League’s leading goal-scorer, Harry Kane has registered the most shots on target bonuses in Sky Sports Fantasy Football this season.

The England international has tested the ‘keeper three or more times in 13 games this term, and in two of those games he’s tested them five times or more, to earn a tier two bonus.

The surprise here is that he is the only player this season to do the latter more than once. He achieved that for the first time against Brighton in December – without scoring – then again at home to Everton in January – when, this time, he scored twice.

Most MOTMs: Mohamed Salah

Another unsurprising inclusion here is Mohamed Salah, the player with the most man of the match awards in Sky Sports Fantasy Football this season.

Kane topped these charts in late-November while Salah had the most shot bonuses, but the two have swapped places now, with Liverpool’s talisman having 10 man of the match awards to Kane’s seven.

That’s no shock considering Salah’s 23 goals have won the Reds 13 points this season – without even factoring in his nine assists – although Kane’s 24 have won 14 for Spurs.

Most passes: Nicholas Otamendi

Just as he did after 15 games, Nicholas Otamendi tops the pass bonus table, having registered 70 passes or more in 20 of his 26 appearances this season.

The defender leads the way in the Premier League for passes completed, averaging 90 per game, and all this has been achieved while also maintaining an incredible accuracy of 91.9 per cent.

It’s no surprise that Otamendi is the fifth top-scoring player in Sky Sports Fantasy Football this season then, with his 64 points gained from passing adding to the 11 clean sheets and four goals he has to his name.

Most saves: Jack Butland

With Joe Hart out of favour at West Ham, Jack Butland is putting forth a convincing case to be England’s number one at this summer’s World Cup, and he leads the save bonus charts for his efforts.

Four times this season the Stoke City stopper has made seven saves or more in a game, putting him just one ahead of David de Gea, Lukasz Fabianski and Nick Pope – the latter having led these stats in late-November.

Butland has also made five or more stops in six other games this term, and is second to only Fabianski (101) for saves made this season (97).

Most tackles: Oriol Romeu

The only consistency at Southampton this season has been in the high level of performance from midfielder Oriol Romeu, allowing him to retain his spot at the top of the tackle bonus table.

Averaging 2.9 tackles per game, just on the verge of the three needed for a tier one bonus in Sky Sports Fantasy Football, Romeu has also won five or more in a single game four times – putting him just ahead of the pack.

A special mention must go out to Wilfried Ndidi though, who is averaging more tackles per game than anyone in the division (4.1), winning 14 tier one and three tier two bonuses as a result.
