Regular visitor to the site drunken womble gave me some excellent feedback about the potential for the sky sports fantasy football bonus points regarding passing and tackling (I know Im supposed to be giving the advice! but Im always open to challenge or suggestions about my ideas and this with some research was spot on). So heres my new sky sports fantasy football team complete with radical formation change
Hart, Joe
0pts
£6.0m
as before- the best sky sports fantasy football defence I still maintain. hopefully he will be fit! last year 135 points de Gea 97, Cech 92 say it all
Defence
Zabaleta, Pablo
0pts
£5.6m
As before Im comforted by the fact that hes one of the better possession and tackling fullbacks which will hopefully be a beneficiary so no need to change. same price as Stephen Warnock or Emerson Boyce
Rafael
0pts
£6.6m
AS before, Rafael as before again good passer , tackling not so much. Fully priced as same price as Kaboul or Agger but banking on Utd replicating cleansheets from last year. However points per game last year were 4.5 compared to kaboul 2.7 and Agger 3.3 so if he can hold his spot..
Fabio
0pts
£4.3m
new addition – like his brother another good passer but hes the filler to be honest
van der Vaart, Rafael
0pts
£8.0m
as before – he can do it all! only problem will be the MOM hogger Gareth Bale. the stats arent that compelling and the good fixtures are crucial. PPG was 4.4 better than YYT (although he will be a big benficiary of passing bonus)and Gerrad at 4.2 but not better than Young and Valencia 4.7 each.
Arteta, Mikel
0pts
£6.2m
first radical change, cheaper than Brunt or Etherington. In a possession team averages well over 60 passes per game so should get the 2 points more than every other week which in itself will add 40 points to his total getting him near to the likes of Crouch’s score of last year of 150 points but hes £8.8m. it would also be better than VDVs total of 4.4 per game although I havent adjusted VDVs scores.
Leiva, Lucas
0pts
£4.6m
no one at this price as an alternative will even play. same price as the likes of essien Anderson and Diarra. The Rodgers effect will see significant bonus points as liverpool dominate possession against poorer sides
Allen, Joe
0pts
£5.8m
the so called Xavi of the premier league. regularly made over 100 passes and averaged well over 60. if you assume he made an additional 40 points then he would average over 4 points per gamefar better than his price tag
Hazard, Eden
0pts
£7.7m
As before
Forwards
Torres, Fernando
0pts
£9.5m
As before plus captain then flip to Rooney
Aguero, Sergio
As before
So there is an element of a gamble to it to adjust the squad but I’ve tried to ad to the principle of form players with the best fixtures and good captain choices. I’ve just tried to add 3 players to take in to account the effect of the new rules.
