Here’s the first Sky Sports fantasy football “ones to watch” for game week 4. This is a menu of players to pick from for your team with factors stating why.
Below each position if applicable is a “bubbling under” category for monitoring certain players before they are added to the “ones to watch” list. Remember these are Sky Sports fantasy football players in would have in my team. At the bottom is a key if you want a bit more detail on the factors listed
So you can work out whats going from last week on Ive put the players moving out in strike through and italics for players being added.
GOALKEEPER
Hart £6.0m – quality
Howard £5.3m – mid range option
Foster £4.7m – mid range option
Al Habsi – £4.1 budget
Begovic £4.1 budget
Jaaskelainen £3.8m budget fixtures
Comment – Hart still seems the best bet here despite the poor start. With negative points for goals in Sky Sports fantasy football youve got to try for quality.
DEFENCE
Rafael £6.6m – attack. CS. Not particularly good value and game time risk but clean sheets should make up
Jagielka £5.9m – fixtures. CS. Best value certain to play Everton defender
Jenkinson £3.8m – value. tough fixtures but better defence from Arsenal. Difficult fixtures and will lose position when Sagna back but good until then
Gallas – £5.3m fixtures value. Game time risk but great value and kaboul injured
Ridgewell – £5.2m fixtures. attack. value. WBA are showing strong defence and with fixtures getting better Ridgewell gives you clean sheet potential plus goals
Gibbs – £6.8m – CS – the improved arsenal defence is home to saints in GW4 and demands coverage although youve then got city away and Chelsea home to think about. Gibbs is the best long term value bet here.
Ivanovic – £7.2m – attack. In a world where RDM has really fixed the defence and Ivanovic keeps on scoring then he’s a keeper even when the fixtures turn to rubbish which they are in the process of doing. I’m not far off believing it
Again the negative points for goals conceded in Sky Sports fantasy football means that you do need a side capable of clean sheets. Ive gone for top 6ish sides with good fixtures above
However if youre going for or need a budget option big Sams negative approach will hopefully bring clean sheets. Demel at £3.6m is the most secure game time wise and Reid at £4.0m, although more of a game time risk, offers better attacking potential
Bubbling under:
Kightly – £4.5m A winger classified as a defender. Not the fantastic news it would be in the barclays format as you lose points when you concede but worth looking at when their fixtures improve.
MIDFIELD
Hazard £7.7m – Quality. form.
Michu £5.5m – value form.
Pienaar £6.0m – fixtures. form value
Fellaini £6.1m form. fixtures. Played in an advanced position again. Good underlying stats too. Mirallas form only question over advanced role.
Nolan £4.9m form. fixtures.
Guthrie £4.3m – budget
Diaby £4.4m – budget. form
Cazorla £6.7m value. Saints at home then City away and Chelsea at home and then fixtures get better. also has good pass stats for that bonus
Passing and tackle bonus midfielders
This is a new aspect of Sky sports fantasy football and offers a cheap way in to regular points. You should have at least 1 if not 2 of these players for regular points and at least 1 cheap 1.
Diarra £4.6m- no goal potential and plays deep but has tackle and pass stats
Noble £4.7m – fixtures. pen who would have thought someone in big sams team would have bonus pass potential but true it is. Also takes pens
Joe Allen – £5.8m – the pass master in the possession masters team. too expensive better options elsewhere
Arteta – £6.2m – Passes tackles gets assists. When the fixtures improve and Giroud gets his shooting boots on he will be a major asset.
YYT – £8.1m – The Rolls Royce option. has held hos own but unfortunately wont get tackle points but MOTM magnet and gets assists and the odd screamer. I personally question whether hes worth the cash without a regular goal output. would be gold if he becomes the most advanced midfielder but doesnt get in to the box enough for this price.
Bubbling under:
Puncheon £4.0m budget. An attacking threat for saints and mind boggling value. only question is Do Prado game time risk. monitor as fixtures about to get better
Sterling £4.3m budget. Can he hold his place with Cole and Assaidi coming back to fitness.
Gera £4.2m budget. not making the team at the moment but has attacking potential at a budget if he does.
FORWARDS
Tevez £9.4m quality. form.
RVP £10.0m QUALITY no game time risk with Rooney injury
Adebayor £8.6m fixtures. value. hopefully should start away to Reading in GW4
Jelavic £8.1m – fixtures quality
Vaz Te £6.2m – budget. fixtures
Lambert £6.8m – value. Better fixtures are on the way. A threat from set pieces and with Pen duties hes another option if you dont want to spend big.
Bubbling under:
Lukaku £6.2m quality. budget. Watch him to see if he can get starts. He is some player. fixtures are good just needs a chance
Rodallega £6.7m – fixtures. budget. Has the potential if selected. need to monitor as a sub only so far.
KEY
quality – an elite player for his position
value – a player at a value that is less than the returns I expect
fixtures – a player facing good fixtures over the next 6 games
budget – filler at the minimum price the position allows. Should play
sleeping giant – a player with past form who may have had a quiet season last year but has the potential for far greater returns than his value
YC – card magnet
DGW – has 2 games in the specified game week
pre-season – has pre-season form
pens – should take penalties
short term – will only play for a few games
Form – current form
