While the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Olivier Giroud grabbed the deadline day headlines, there were plenty of deals that slipped under the radar.

Thirteen signings were made by Premier League clubs in the final hours, many of which may appear as gambles by their new owners.

Nonetheless, here are five players that have the potential to be last-minute successes, all of whom enter Sky Sports Fantasy Football for much more moderate prices than the star names.

Didier Ndong (£7.2m)

Didier Ndong didn’t get the best opportunity to impress the Premier League last season, signing for a struggling Sunderland side for a club record fee.

However, he still averaged 2.6 tackles per game and is making an increased 2.9 in the Championship this season – just short of Sky Sports Fantasy Football’s bonus minimum of three.

While only averaging 35 passes per game for the Black Cats, Ndong was meeting the 50-pass criteria for a bonus with previous club Lorient, averaging exactly that.

As he joins a Watford team who see significantly more of the ball than the North-East outfit, the midfielder has the potential to reel in the bonuses – and all for a generous price of £7.2m.

Andre Ayew (£8.3m)

After struggling for chances with West Ham, Andre Ayew made an £18m deadline day switch back to Swansea – returning to the club where he had his best-ever scoring season in league competition.

With only three to his name so far this term, he is unlikely to surpass that total of 12 from two years ago, but the Ghanaian has been having a strong season considering his playing time.

In just nine starts, he’s added two assists to those three goals and is sure to get the minutes in Wales to increase both tallies.

Badou Ndiaye (£7.3m)

The pass and tackle averages of Stoke City’s new signing Badou Ndiaye fall frustratingly short of Sky Sports Fantasy Football’s bonus criteria, with 2.9 tackles and 49.3 passes per game at Galatasaray this season.

But the midfielder is still in the right ball park to score those bonuses, and on a consistent basis.

If he can replicate those numbers in England, £15m will be a bargain for the Potters – and £7.3m will be a bargain in Sky Sports Fantasy Football.

Alexander Sorloth (£8.6m)

Without a doubt the most unknown entity on this list, Alexander Sorloth joined Crystal Palace having already scored 15 goals and registered nine assists this term.

That’s with Danish Superliga leaders FC Midtjylland, following up the three goals and three assists he chalked up in just seven starts for Groningen in the Dutch Eredivisie the season prior.

If the towering 22-year-old can continue that form in England, anyone who takes a punt on him in Sky Sports Fantasy Football at £8.6m will be delighted that Palace gambled too and acquired the Norwegian international for just £9m.

Eliaquim Mangala (£7.6m)

Eliaquim Mangala made a name for himself at Porto as a focused ball-playing defender who was particularly impressive at timing his tackles.

However, the Frenchman has only looked awkward in possession and error-prone at Manchester City, struggling with the emphasis on playing out of defence.

The switch from Pep Guardiola’s mentality to Sam Allardyce’s could do him the world of good then and bring back the player who averaged 1.9 tackles per game during an impressive loan spell at Valencia last season, while also scoring his first goals for three years.
