Here’s our Sky Sports fantasy football tips article where we look at the FFGeeks team progress and also look ahead 5 gameweeks to help with your captain planning and player selection
Sky Sports Fantasy Football tips- The FFGeek team and looking ahead to October and November
Firstly here’s the FFGeek team. Things couldn’t be going much better at the moment and I’ve got 534 points and currently in 731 position overall. I think there’s about 1 million teams in Sky so it’s a pretty good start.
Here’s the team:
The key to Sky is to plan your captains properly. The ability to change captains for each game day separates those with a rather haphazard approach to the game vs those obsessed. Although I find my self setting an alarm and interrupting my evening meal to hastily change captain on a Monday night or Sunday lunch time it does bring it’s rewards. Unless you want to burn transfers though it does require planning.
I’ve decided to cover the majority of the gamedays with 4 potential captains in 5 or 6 week blocks and try and limit transfers to a few a month based on injuries, captain picks and loss of position rather than hasty form changes. Those 4 with captain potential at the moment are Lukaku, Aguero , Payet and Firmino.
The other attacking players I’ve tried to find value with tackle and bonus players. These are at the moment Arter, Xhaka and Gueye. In defence I’ve tried to go for value in the top 7 teams and the cheapest save point GK.
On the specifics of the team Arter and Baines have injuries which need monitoring and Xhaka’s place needs watching when Coquelin returns.
I’ve got 30 transfers left
THE FIXTURES AHEAD AND CAPTAIN PLANNING
So I’m looking 5 game weeks ahead to plan a captain change for each day.
My sense at the moment is that an Arsenal (Sanchez hopefully), Liverpool (Firmino), Man City (Aguero) and a Southampton (Austin) player can cover the time frame. I’m going to outline the fixtures by days and put those in italics that are covered and see whats left
GW8
SATURDAY
ARS V SWAN
SUNDAY
SOUTH V BURN
MONDAY
LIV V MANU
GW9
SATURDAY
ARS V MBORO
LIV V WBA
SUNDAY
MCY V SOUTH
GW10
SATURDAY
SUN V ARS
CPAL V LIV
WBA V MCY
SUNDAY
SOUTH V CHEL
MONDAY
STOK V SWAN
GW11
SATURDAY
MCY V MBORO
SUNDAY
LIV V WAT
GW12
SATURDAY
CPAL V MCY
SUNDAY
MBORO V CHEL
MONDAY
WBA V BURN
So my 4 player captain cover does all the days except for 3 gamedays
GW10 Monday Stoke v Swansea and
GW12 Sunday and Monday Mboro v Chelsea and WBA V Burnley although I do have Heaton as GK for the Monday game
Those gameweeks are far enough away not to worry about for the moment
So the transfers would see a move to 3-4-3 and see Lukaku out – Austin in and Payet out Sanchez in with a healthy £2.0m in the bank.
TRANSFER IDEAS
An Arsenal defender – Mustafi at £8.9m seems the best value
Theo Walcott Arsenal Mid – £9.4m
Deeney Watford Fwd – £10.7m
Heung-Min Son Spurs striker – £9.3m
Here’s some pass and tackle mids in reverse price order to fill some gaps at varying prices
Romeu Southampton £7.4m 27 points
Gueye Everton £7.5m 41 points
Hojberg Southampton £8.0m 24 points
Hererra Man Utd £8.8m 15 points
Henderson Liverpool £8.9m 47 points
Cazorla Arsenal £9.2m 48 points also pens
Pogba Man Utd £ 11.9m 30 points
Also on the very cheap side if Adam Clayton can get a regular place in the MBoro side he has potential at £6.7m
That’s it hope it gives you some food for thought for your transfers
