RVP – Champions league – BUY

  •  cost:  £8.0m.  Points:  17.    7+Star man rating.  1/3.     Star man awards:  1     fixture ranking:  3

With a home game against Crystal Palace next now’s the time to purchase the most popular player in Sun Dream Team.  Its been a fairly slow start so far for last years top forward but out of 3 games he was playing Chelsea and Liverpool in 2.  Still getting chances and fairly rotation proof given the pressure on Moyes to perform.  Good fixtures and hopefully Rooney will be back as expected for the 22nd September soon as the creator.

Ashley Williams    – Europa League – HOLD

  •  cost:  £3.5m.  Points:  7.    7+Star man rating.  2/4.     Star man awards:  0     fixture ranking:  2

Ashley Williams was one of the darlings of Sun Dream Team last year but hasn’t started off like he’s the teachers pet with the Sun Dream Team raters so far.  All of the defensive team (including Rangel with Tiendalli by the way irrespective of what Sun Dream Team says) have cover so its trying to pick who is the most likely to be rotated for the easier Europa League games.  I’ve identified Amat as the only realistic defensive cover for the CBs so I’ve gone for Chico as my Swansea defender of choice.  I’m hoping that Williams as the most important CB is kept for the more difficult premier league games rather than some of the easier Europa League games.  That was the case in the Europa league dead rubber against  FC Petrolul Ploiesti where Williams was rested.  It’s very difficult to predict though so really you’ve just got to take a stab.  Chico is my pick.  However that doesn’t mean sell Williams.  If you’ve bought him hold on.  Swansea players are not the ones to be sold in this transfer window

Mata – Champions League – SELL

  •  cost:  £7.0m.  Points:  0    7+Star man rating.  0/1.     Star man awards:  0     fixture ranking:  5

Talk about from hero to Zero.  Last year he just needed to complete the warm up to get the Star Man award.  This year he can’t get on the pitch.  Willian purchased as well just to make it worse who’s a creative player to replace Mata’s chance creation.

Mignolet – BUY

  • cost:  £3.0m.  Points:  23.    7+Star man rating.  2/4.     Star man awards:  0     fixture ranking:  8

Hasn’t got the additional games but does have value on his side and good fixtures plus 3 clean sheets on the bounce as great reasons to buy

Walcott – Champions League – BUY

  • cost:  £5.5m.  Points:  18.    7+Star man rating.  4/5.     Star man awards:  0     fixture ranking:  4

Good premier league fixtures although the champions league fixtures are tricky.  Should benefit from extra creativity from Ozil.  Will play most games as integral part of the attacking play.  The Ox is injured who is one of the cover options as well

Leighton Baines – SELL

  • cost:  £6.5m.  Points:  17.    7+Star man rating.  1/3.     Star man awards:  1     fixture ranking:  13

Just too expensive by half for me.  Unless you’ve got money to burn go for Coleman at £3.0m.  Coleman has all the attacking potential except for some set pieces and pens that Baines has.  That’s not worth double the price and the extra £3.5m for me

Coutinho – HOLD

  • cost:  £4.0m.  Points:  9.    7+Star man rating.  1/4.     Star man awards:  0     fixture ranking:  8

There’s a good case for holding your nerve here.  The premier league fixtures are fantastic, you just don’t get any European football as an extra and the Capital One cup game away to Man Utd is also very difficult.  The purchase of Moses, however, may allow Coutinho to move centrally as Rodgers has said this is his best position. In addtion  the return of Suarez will give him more options to aim at (if it doesn’t end with Coutinho back on the left flank).  Unless you need the money for your forward line or to drastically improve the team, I would hold fire here.  Remember how poor Mata was to start last season

Hazard – Champions league – SELL  (injury doubt)

  • cost:  £6.5m.  Points:  4.    7+Star man rating.  0/4.     Star man awards:  0     fixture ranking:  5

Has started like the Sun Dream Team raters have some sort of personal grudge against him.  I actually don’t think he’s played that bad but for this price I would go for cheaper Chelsea options.  They’ll be still rotated but at least they wont be costing you an arm and a leg.

Soldado – Europa league – BUY

  • cost:  £4.5m.  Points:  28.    7+Star man rating. 3/4.     Star man awards:  0     fixture ranking:  1

The first choice central striker in a team that now has a real creative force in new signing Christian Eriksen.  Soldado also has pen duties and should score a good amount of goals.  The problem will be the rotation of Defoe in the Europa League.  Last year AVB didn’t rotate much for the Europa League but it seems likely to me that with the pressure for a top 4 place and a big squad then rotation will be far greater.  A definite gametime risk but good value for a team that demands coverage where there is no guaranteed attacking starter for all games.

Chico – Europa League – BUY

  • cost:  £2.5m.  Points:  9.    7+Star man rating. 3/5.     Star man awards:  0     fixture ranking:  2

AS I said in my bit on Williams, all of the Swansea defensive team  have cover so its trying to pick who is the most likely to be rotated for the easier Europa League games.  I’ve identified Amat as the only realistic defensive cover for the CBs so I’ve gone for Chico as my Swansea defender of choice.  I’m hoping that Williams as the most important CB is kept for the more difficult premier league games rather than some of the easier Europa League games.  That was the case in the Europa league 2nd leg against  FC Petrolul Ploiesti where Williams was rested.  It’s very difficult to predict though.

Thats it again.  Hope you found it useful
