Here’s my view on the best strikers for Sun Dream Team 2014/15.  I’ve given a table with a number of stats from last season plus a little bit of fixture info going forward as well.  I’ve then given some commentary on each player and their prospects.

To help you with the player choices you might want to read my fixture article for Sun Dream Team to copy and paste into your browser:

KEY
1. Rank: My view of their rank given the various stats
2. Cost: Their cost in Sun Dream Team
3. Points; The total points to last year in Sun Dream Team
4. The points per game: The total points divided by the games played. The higher the better. The Sun Dream Team supplies games including sub appearances which makes the information a bit distorted.
5.  European competetions the team is in.
6. The % of 7+ plus awards of their total games. This gives a general indication of Sun Dream Teams view of the player
7. The % of Starman awards. Again this gives a general view of the players starman potential
8. Fixture ease. This is the rank of how easy their fixtures are to the 2nd transfer window.  If you remember the article then it groups teams by how many of the lower placed teams of last year are in the games to the first transfer window.

I’ve then attempted to rank them although you’ll have your own views.

Sturridge

Last season he was a very consistent performer and has the highest 7+ rating for anyone in the table.  Should be improved this season not only with the extra fixtures but also without Suarez hogging the Starman awards.  He will now be the attacking focal point of the team. Probably won’t feature much in the domestic cups though.  Fitness generally is the only concern.  Had a good preseason.  Liverpool are in the Champions league.

Diego Costa

New to the premier league is the only negative you can give for the man who finished 3rd in the scoring charts  behind Ronaldo and Messi in La Liga.  Will be involved with as many games as possible given the lack of alternatives to him.  The creative talent in midfield will also give him chances galore.  Good fixtures to start as well in the premier league.  If he can pinch penalties of Hazard, which I dont think will happen, then he will have it all.  Chelsea are in the Champions league.

Here’s my article on Diego Costa.  It’s aimed at FPL but gives alot of info:

Fantasy premier league tips – new player profile – Diego Costa

Rooney

While you’ll see in my article that the top point scorers normally come from the Champions League teams Suarez and Sturridge made a mockery of that last year.  Rooney does have good fixtures and while RVP is getting back to fitness has little competition for Star Man awards.  He also has pens and a good share of set pieces up to that point.  Not in any European Competition

Adebayor

Was fantastic last season when Sherwood took over.  Whether he will be able to adjust to Poccetinhos high pressing game remains to be seen. I imagine if he is first choice then Soldado will play the Europa League unless he’s sold

Dzeko

Will definitely start with Aguero not match fit and Negredo injured and should hold his place as a natural partner to Aguero when he is fit.  Inconsistent though which explains his 7+ and Starman record which isn’t great.  Although sub appearances do distort this.  Man City are in the Champs League

Giroud

Again inconsistent in finishing although his 7+ scores are good.  However hard to get Star Man awards in the Arsenal team and that is low.  Arsenal have 2 extra games in transfer window 1 for Champions League qualifying and it maybe worth a punt in transfer window 1 for the extra games.  Whether he or Sanogo plays though is still a risk although I would be surprised given the quality of the qualifying opposition

Lukaku

Everton are in the Europa League which I’m sure Martinez will be desperate to win.  That plus the absence of an understudy should give him a number of extra games early on.  Not that involved as a player but his 7+ and Starman awards % are very good.

Jelavic

The Croatian World Cup striker hasn’t seen much preseason but will be the main beneficiary of Longs sale to Southampton as he becomes the focal point of the attack.  Poor stats but distorted by the number of sub appearances for Everton.  Hull are in the Europa League but need to win their qualifying game to progress

Bojan

Very good premier league fixtures for Stoke and the ability to standout is the theory behind having Bojan in the team despite there been no European competition

Here’s my premier league new player review of him to copy and paste into the browser:

fantasy premier league new players to pick – Stoke forward Bojan Krkic

Remy

Even more than Bojan should be a star in an ordinary tea,  Just home he doesn’t move to France or Spain and leave you high and dry although in reverse he could move to a higher positioned team in the premier league.  Good stats for Newcastle.  Nio European competition and tricky fixtures though
