One of the factors to take into account in Sun Dream Team transfer window 4 (and the last transfer window) is future fixtures. This has become far simpler and clearer with all the English teams out of the European competitions and only the FA Cup left.      This article will focus on the teams with the best fixtures until the end of the season.    Remember you have 3 transfers and can change your transfers up to 4 April.   You may also have an emergency transfer which goes to the end of the season.

We’ll go though the 2 remaining competitions to evaluate the teams and their fixtures.

Which competitions involve which teams?

As far as English teams are concerned there is only the premier league and the FA Cup left with all the English teams out of the European competitions.

1. The premier league. There are 8 gameweeks left in the premier league although Leicester and Chelsea have an additional game over the other teams via a previous postponement

2.  The FA Cup.  Blackburn v Liverpool  is an FA Cup quarter final replay

The semi’s are Reading v Arsenal and Aston Villa vs the winner of the above replay.

The final will be after the league is finished

We’ll show a table of who has the best premier league fixtures and we’ll summarise the situation at the end.

The premier league

Up to the end of the season there are a  further 8 premier league game weeks.

Here’s the fixture ease schedule I use for fantasy premier league which ranks the teams in terms of fixtures “easiness” over the next 8 premier league gameweeks.   The team ranked 1 has the easiest fixtures, the team ranked 20 has the most difficult.   It’s from an attacking point of view but is a reasonable proxy for defence as well.  I’ve also noted in the schedule which teams are also in the domestic Cups.  It’s important to note that Chelsea and Leicester have an additional premier league game over the others but that is taken into account in the ranking:

Fixture Ease ranking schedule for 8 PL games to end of season Domestic cup Extra PL games
Next 7
1 Leicester1 Extra
2 West Ham
3 Newcastle
4 A VillaFA Cup
5 Burnley
6 Southampton
7 Swansea
8 Man City
9 Chelsea1 Extra
10 Tottenham
11 Everton
12 LiverpoolFA Cup
13 Sunderland
14 QPR
15 WBA
16 ArsenalFA Cup
17 Hull
18 C Palace
19 Man Utd
20 Stoke

There’s only 8 games to go in the premier league.  With Chelsea clear in the league there becomes some rotation risk towards the end of the season if they win it with spare games.  Thats  exacerbated by the fact that Mourinho hasn’t really rotated to any great degree so far this season and the players are bound to be fatigued.  Otherwise the race for 4th, which is where the main pool of players will be coming from, could keep fighting for those 3 places right to the end of the season.

The FA Cup

Liverpool have to negotiate a replay to get through to the semis to play Villa but they potentially could have 3 extra games in the phase and Arsenal have a good chance of an extra 2.  Arsenal have a big squad in midfield though and alot of potential to rotate.

That’s it.  I’ll now focus on player recommendations
