sun dream team 2015/16 tips – teams with the best fixtures to transfer window 4

Sun Dream Team

sunlogo2015.16

One of the factors to take into account in Sun Dream Team transfer window 3 is fixtures. We’ll look at it again here on 3 levels. Which teams will play European games and therefore extra fixtures, and secondly which teams have the easiest premier league games to transfer window 4. The third part is the Capital One cup and the FA Cup and any implications of that. This transfer window 3 closes on the 6th February and the games that count are to the 4th transfer window which opens on  22 March and and closes on the 2 April 2016. That’s where we’ll focus to. Remember you have 3 transfers during transfer window 3 and can change your transfers during the week if you change your mind.

Which competitions involve which teams?

Up to transfer window 4 there are the following competitions ongoing:

1. The premier league. It’s a short round and there are only 7 rounds fixtures up to tranfers window 4 closes

2. The Europa League. There are 4 extra fixtures up to transfer window 4. ( Man Utd, Liverpool and Tottenham).

3. The Champions League. There are 2 extra fixtures up to transfer window 4. (Man City, Chelsea, Arsenal)

4. The Capital One Cup. Just the final to go (Man City v Liverpool)

5. The FA Cup. There are 2 rounds before transfer window 4.  Most premier league teams are still in.  Remember the 4th round is not part of the next phase.

Just a reminder of the basics. Transfer Window 3 opened on the 26 January and closes on the 6 February 2016. However there are 3 transfers for us to use in the transfer window. There’s also the emergency transfer after February 6 and before 22 March 2016. I’ll probably save that as an injury/selection transfer though.

We’ll look at the competitions and teams in turn and how they affect the time up to transfer window 4

Below though is a summary table which shows the premier league fixtures in order of overall easiness. I’ve taken the analysis from another advice site which runs a fixture schedule. I’ts just for the premier league though. I’ve then added which teams have which additional fixtures through the other competitions up to the next transfer window. At the time of writing this Liverpool. Man City, Newcastle and Everton have postponed games due to the Cap 1 final.  This table doesn’t take into account those postponed games as they may not be postponed into this phase of the competition

The Premier League

With only 7 fixtures the premier league isn’t as important as previous phases.  The schedule is a bit distorted as Man City, Liverpool, Newcastle and Everton have postponed games in this phase due to the Cap 1 final which have as yet not been confirmed for this phase.  Out of the European teams only Liverpool and Chelsea have good fixtures with the 2 Manchester clubs having poor fixtures.  Although City’s will be improved if their postponed game against Newcastle is confirmed in this phase

The Europa League

4 extra fixtures is very enticing and given the stage of the season as a realistic trophy shouldn’t see mass rotation.

Here’s the games for each team:

Liverpool: Round of 32 v Augsburg.  Round of 16 TBC

Tottenham: Round of 32 v Fiorentina.  Round of 16 TBC

Man Utd:Round of 32 v Midtjylland.  Round of 16 TBC

So tough game for Spurs but ok draws for Liverpool and Man Utd although either can slip up to any team

The Champions League

At this stage there’s no question of rotation although premier league games around it may seem some.   Here’s the fixtures which are 2 legs

Man City: Dynamo Kiev

Chelsea:  PSG

Arsenal: Barcelona

So tough game for Arsenal and Chelsea.  Not a bad draw for Man City apart from the travelling.

The Capital One Cup

Just the final which is Liverpool v Man City

The FA Cup

Here’s the 4th round draw.  However the 4th round is not part of the next phase it’s part of this phase were in now.  The 5th round and the quarters are  in the next  phase.  Apart from the European teams and those in a relegation fight expect the other teams to take it seriously with minimal rotation.  Check the 4th round results before doing your transfers.

Here’s the 4th round draw taken from the BBC website.  Remember these games don’t count to the next phase
