Sun Dream Team

The first article is a quick review of how the FFGeek team is doing and some thoughts about transfers.  It’s a bit of a tale of woe unfortunately.  We’ll also look at the team leading the overall Sun Dream Team League and see what that tells us

Sun Dream Team 2015/16 transfer window 2 – Reviewing the FFGeek team

Well afer finishing 15,800 overall it’s been a very difficult start to the season so far.  At the moment it’s a complete tale of woe with 3 players injured and 2 players struggling to get into the first team. At the moment is a very disappointing 297,278 out of about 750k teams.

The FFGeek team

Here’s the team:

So at the moment injuries to Ivanovic, Bellerin and Aguero haven’t helped the score.  Neither has Depay and Darmian not being definite selections.  Martial being shunted to the flank also was unhelpful.

So the players who will definitely stay are Stekelenberg, Kolarov, Hazard, Ozil, De Bruyne, and Aguero.  In the frame to be moved out are Ivanovic, Bellerin (depending on the extent of the injury) Darmian (although Valencia being injured may give him a reprieve) Depay and Martial (although he did play striker in the last game).

Only real successes have been Ozil, De Bruyne and Aguero. The main failures are the Chelsea duo.

So alot of thought needed as I go into transfer window 2.  At the moment Kane and Smalling (subject to injury doubt ) are the 2 mian thoughts but I need to do the analysis first.

The good thing about Sun Dream Team is that the games and points come thick and fast and there is every chance of rectifying the situation

The leading overall team

Here’s the leading team overall.  Interestingly the guy leading it regularly does well in Sun Dream Team and I believe won Sky Sports Fantasy Football last season

So it’s interesting the strategy followed has been similar to my belief in that in the first half of the season you have to have virtually the whole team being from those in the European competitions.  In his team  only Mahrez comes from teams that weren’t in European competition (Southampton was knocked out before TW1).  However he’s avoided all Chelsea players and instead of say Depay he’s got it right with Mata and as well as Darmian has got the Man Utd defence right with Smalling and Blind.  It’s also worth noting that this may just be one of a number of his  teams entered which also helps. especially as it allows you to dominate teams with 1 teams defence.
