Sun dream team – looking ahead to gameweeks 37-38
The FFGeek teams
Team 1
GW36 score: 60 Points: 1, 955 pts Overall Rank: 8,373 (pre GW37) Team value: £66.3m (-£0.5m)
My overall rank worsened by 1k from last week
The gameweek rank was 265k
With only 1 transfer to go it’s a case of figuring out who might play 2 games an replacing them with someone who possibly will not play again or will only play 1 game
Team 2
Gameweek 36 score 76 Points: 1,856 pts Overall Rank: 28,571 (pre GW37) Team value: £62.3m (+£1.1m)
An improvement of overall rank by 5k.
The gameweek rank was 93k
Team 2 is on a good run. Pity it’s so late.
Transfer rules
Here’s a reminder of the rules from the sun dream team website regarding transfers.
Managers will be able make up to a maximum of three transfers to their team during each calendar month.
Transfers can be made providing that the Football club that both players involved in the transfer belong to, have not played in the current Game Week (Monday to Sunday).
A Game Week starts at 00:00:01 on a Monday and ends at 23:59:59 on the following Sunday.
If any player’s Club have played n that Game Week then they are ‘locked’ and cannot be moved in or out until the final match of the Game Week has ended.
The price of a player is as updated at the beginning of that Game Week by the Variable Player Pricing policy.
So here’s the teams with their upcoming schedules plus some player suggestions. The schedule is pretty obvious. However just to explain The column see lineups? basically tells you whether you will be able to see the lineups before making a transfer. You won’t be able if the player is locked as the team has played previously in the gameweek. Also if the game is sufficiently later in the day that the gameday will have started before the lineups have been announced.
Generally your players will come from the top 7 teams which is why I’ve just given you these fixtures and added on player suggestions. Prices as of Monday
Fixtures and player suggestions
Firstly here’s the PL table from the BBC Football website before the Chelsea v Watford match so you can assess who’s playing for what.
Arsenal
Def: Monreal £3.3m PPG 2.8
Mid: Ozil £5.2m PPG 4.5
Fwd: Sanchez £7.6m PPG 6.6
Arsenal continue to pursue a top 4 UCL spot and it should go to the last day depending on results. They are also in the FA Cup final
Spurs
GK: Lloris £4.5m PPG 3.2
Def: Alderweireld £4.9m PPG 3.7
Mid: Eriksen £8.3m PPG 5.2 Alli £6.8m PPG 4.3
Fwd: Kane £10.9m PPG 6.7
With Chelsea having won the league and Spurs having secured 2nd there is nothing to play for. Possible rotation risk. Kane maybe safe as he pursues the golden boot.
Manchester Utd
GK: De Gea £3.3m PPG 2.1
Def:
Midfield: Pogba £5.4m PPG 4.4
Forward: Rashford £3.7m PPG 2.3
All Man Utd players are rotation risks with Mourinho prioritising the EL and with the top 4 having been missed
Chelsea
GK: Courtois £3.7m PPG 3.1
Def: Alonso £5.9m PPG 5.1 or Azpilicueta £4.3m PPG 4.1
Mid: Hazard £8.5m PPG 5.8
Fwd: Costa £5.1m PPG 5.1
Chelsea have won the title and have the FA Cup final a week after the last game. That could see mass rotation for the last 2 PL games.
Liverpool
GK: Mignolet £3.1m PPG 2.2
Def: Clyne £3.3m PPG 2.3
Mid: Coutinho £7.4m PPG 5.4,
Fwd:
Continue to battle for a UCL spot. That should go to the last game.
Everton
GK:
Def:
Mid: Barkley £4.3m PPG 2.8
Fwd: Lukaku £8.8m PPG 6.3
Everton have secured a Europa League spot and have nothing to play for. Unlikely to see rotation at Arsenal though
Man City
GK: Caballero £3.9 PPG 3.0
Defence: Kompany £4.6 PPG 2.8
Mids: De Bruyne £6.7m PPG 4.1, Sane £3.9m PPG 2.9, Sterling £3.5m PPG 3.4
Fwd: Jesus £5.5m 6.0 PPG
Alot of Pep rotation going on which makes selection difficult
Top 10 players by points per game
This chart excludes GKs. If you remove the players with just a few games, injured or have left the club your top PPG players in that 10 are:
Kane
Aguero
Sanchez
Lukaku
Jesus
Hazard
Coutinho
Eriksen
Sanchez is an injury risk. I don’t believe Aguero is despite the flag
Top 10 players by points
Whoscored player ratings
You may or may not know that the football analysis site whoscored provides the player ratings and Man Of the Match awards for Sun Dream Team which makes up some percentage of the points. Here’s there top 20 players by their ranking for just premier league games. Use this as a reference as part of your transfer decision.
My team if I could start again
I’ve kept it the 7 teams above and also tried to keep it around £60m so I’ve avoided the very expensive players like Kane and Lukau
I’ve also gone heavy on Arsenal and Man City for incentive, games played and fixtures. Remember all the midweek games will give you a chance to see the lineups although after that they will be locked for the midweek games. Those lineups in midweek should be crucial to your transfer decision
GK: Caballero £3.9m
DEF: Kompany £4.6m Azpilicueta £4.3m Monreal £3.3m Clyne £3.3m
MID: Ozil £5.2m Pedro £5.2m Sane £3.9m
FWD: Sanchez £7.6m Kane £10.9m Jesus £5.5m
Total Cost: £57.7m
That’s it for our Sun Dream Team article. Good luck for this gameweek
