Sun Dream Team – Last years FFGeek League winner Simon Rowley confirms his transfers

So just a reminder here is my team currently before any transfers in the 4th window:

GK: DeGea
DEF: Smalling, Bellerin, Clyne, Alderweireld
MID: Silva, Ozil, Firmino
FWDS: Aguero, Kane, Lukaku

Here’s also the link to my article at the start of the Sun Dream Team transfer window 4 which will open in a different tab so you can continue reading this:

With the internationals done and dusted, time to finalise my transfers. As I don’t appear to have picked up any injuries in my team, I will be going with the transfers I suggested in my previous article, so Payet for Ozil, and Coutinho for Firmino, and no third transfer. The Firmino transfer is purely down to injury uncertainty.

While on the subject of injuries, thought I’d just say a little something on how injuries to players not in your team, can affect your team. Sounds counterintuitive, but bare with me.

Jack Butlands injury playing for England, will obviously affect everyone who has got him in their team, and I’m assuming most will be transferring him out. Now, his injury, combined with Shawcross being substituted in Stokes last match, with a possible reoccurrence of his back injury, means Stokes defence, usually a strong point, will be severely depleted. Anyone still considering putting a Stoke defender in?

In a similar vein, Rob Elliots injury at Newcastle will mean both first choice keepers out injured, and a keeper with limited experience being thrown in at the deep end. Anyone considering a Newcastle defender, after Benitez was appointed manager, might want to reconsider.

Cech and Hart also injury worries for Saturdays fixtures (and who knows how much longer), who’s got confidence in their back up keepers doing a good job in their absence?

Injuries can also help your team as well, take Man City as an example. Sterling ruled out for the season, Toure seemingly always a doubt every week, KDB out with long term injury (possible return on Saturday, but how fit?), means Silva will hopefully be the main man behind Aguero for the rest of the season. Easily his best, and most profitable position, and should also bring the best out in Aguero.

You may or may not have any of these players in your team, but its worth remembering its not just your players fitness that needs considering, its their team mates as well.

I hope you find this useful, and that it maybe gives you something to consider before you confirm your transfers. Good luck to everyone for the rest of the season.

Thanks very much Simon.  Good luck to you and again thanks for the articles and all your help with people coming to the site for their teams.  Greatly appreciated.  BTW, I’ll probably do the FFGeek transfers early tomorrow
