Sun Dream Team – my first draft team

Sun Dream Team

Here’s my draft Sun Dream Team.  I’m dovetailing this article with my “ones to watch” articles so you can see how they link up
By the way I’m having real problems logging in to my Sun Dream Team account and cant register with Sun + to the extent I’m worried whether I will be able to participate. Anyone else having problems?
S, Mignolet£3.0m

  • last years stats:  Points Per Game 2.3.    Starman awards  1.  % of 7 ratings or more  53%

Remember those stats are from Sunderland who were a train wreck as far as defence was concerned.  No European games for Liverpool but great value at £3.0m compared to the other elite keepers.  Little competition so will not be subjet to much rotation even in the domestic cups which Rodgers will be looking to win.

K, Gibbs£3.5m

  • last years stats:  Points Per Game 3.2   Starman awards  0.  % of 7 ratings or more  55%

Good value and good returns compared to the other Arsenal defenders  and Sun Dream Team really seem to like him judging by his 55% 7 or more ratings return.  Has rotation risk with Monreal as does the rest of the Arsenal team but worth the risk for returns and value

C, Azpilicueta£4.0m

not on my “ones to watch” list as not really a Sun Dream Team favourite but I’m going for clean sheets and extra games.

Chico£2.5m

  • last years stats:  Points Per Game 3.5   Starman awards  3  % of 7 ratings or more  56%

Cheaper than his colleague Williams but just as good returns.  Loved by Sun Dream Team and has the extra games of the Europa league

D, Rose£2.5m

  • last years stats:  Points Per Game 3.1   Starman awards  4  % of 7 ratings or more  52%

Very good returns last year considering the terrible defence he was part of.  Seems to have nailed the LB spot in pre-season and great value.

J, Mata£7.0m

  • last years stats:  Points Per Game 6.1   Starman awards  15.  % of 7 ratings or more  81%

One of the Sun Dream team darlings who just needed to turn up last year to get the points.  Great stats from last year.  Only risk is any increased rotation and the theory that he doesnt suit Mourinho’s style

T, Walcott£5.5m

  • last years stats:  Points Per Game 7.4.    Starman awards  4.  % of 7 ratings or more  77%

Great returns from last year and with a good fixture list and an advanced position sorted he’s a must have for me

D, Silva£5.5m

  • last years stats:  Points Per Game 3.7.    Starman awards  4.  % of 7 ratings or more  51%

You have to look past the stats from last year and look to a more attacking approach from City which hopefully will see an upturn from Silva.  Only nailed on attacking midfielder at City and they have great fixtures to start which compels Sun DReam team managers to get some City coverage.

P, Coutinho£4.0m

  • last years stats:  Points Per Game 5.5.    Starman awards  2.  % of 7 ratings or more  75%

What an impression Coutinho made.  The sort of all highly involved midfielder like Mata that Sun Dream Team hooked on to.  Essential for me with Liverpool having good fixtures to start with.

R, van Persie£8.0m

  • last years stats:  Points Per Game 7.2  Starman awards  7.  % of 7 ratings or more  83%

Returns per game above anyone else  except Lukaku.  Crucial to Uniteds progress that he should be minimally rotated

R, Soldado£4.5m

5th top scorer in Spain last year.  Will be the main striker for Spurs although could suffer rotation in the Europa league if AVB wants to take the pressure off the squad after last years difficulties.  Really good price and good starting fixtures.

That’s it hope you found it helpful in coming up with your team
