Here’s my view of the best forwards in Sun Dream Team
As you’ll know if you’re reading this Sun Dream Team covers the the domestic and European Cups as well as the premier league. With this in mind and the fact that you only have 12 transfers for the whole season I’ve tried to concentrate on teams with European fixtures in order to generate maximum matches.
Remember Swansea and Spurs are in the Europa league and Man Utd, Man City, Arsenal and Chelsea are in the Champions league.
The forward players who Sun Dream Team likes are generally players that contribute all round to the game creating chances as well as scoring.
RVP (£8.0m)
- last years stats: Points Per Game 7.2 Starman awards 7. % of 7 ratings or more 83%
Returns per game above anyone else except Lukaku. Crucial to Uniteds progress that he should be minimally rotated
Sturridge (£5.0m)
- last years stats: Points Per Game 7.1 Starman awards 2. % of 7 ratings or more 67%
With Coutinho made a real impression when joining Liverpool. They have great fixtures to start with and he’s declared himself fit.
Berbatov (£4.5m)
- last years stats: Points Per Game 5.3 Starman awards 9. % of 7 ratings or more 59%
Classy highly involved forward who Sun Dream Team like alot. Fixtures to start arent that good which is the only drawback.
Dzreko (£4.0m)
- last years stats: Points Per Game 5.4 Starman awards 2. % of 7 ratings or more 65%
Should share the most forward striker position with Negredo after a brilliant pre-season and there’s enough games to go around for him to make an impression. City have fantastic fixtures to start with as well. Good value which makes the gamble worth taking in my mind.
Lukaku (£4.0m)
- last years stats: Points Per Game 8.2 Starman awards 7. % of 7 ratings or more 96%
Amazing returns last year and like Dzeko, although he will share the games with Ba and Torres there’s enough games and he’s good enough value for it to be a gamble worth taking
lambert (£3.5m)
- last years stats: Points Per Game 4.6 Starman awards 3. % of 7 ratings or more 69%
Good all round game plus set piece and penalty duties. Very little back up so rotation isn’t an option for him.
Bony (£3.5m)
Top scorer last year in Holland with a fantastic scoring record. Has the Europa league to plunder with virtually no cover for rotation. Good value as well.
Soldado (£4.5m)
5th top scorer in Spain last year. Will be the main striker for Spurs although could suffer rotation in the Europa league if AVB wants to take the pressure off the squad after last years difficulties. Really good price and good starting fixtures.
Cornelius (£1.5m)
If you’re looking for a budget option this is my choice even though he’s injured for the first gameweek. Good scoring record in the Danish league and will be the main man for Cardiff
A few people I’m not considering…
Negredo (£6.0m) and Aguero (£7.0m) – its one thing to be rotated at £4,0m its another at these prices. Need to check their gametime before reconsidering in the first transfer window.
Benteke (£5.5m) – a little too expensive for the numbers and the team he plays for.
Torres (£5.5m) – do I need to explain?
Ba (£5.0m) – Lukaku is a better and cheaper option
Michu (£4.5m) – Too expensive and Bony will take hs share of the goals plus Bony’s cheaper
Giroud (£4.0m) – a bit of a selection doubt and just a bit too hit and miss. Walcott also essential.
Carroll (£3.0m) – Sun Dream Team numbers not great surprisingly. They dont seem to like him?
Thats it now for the Sun Dream Team “ones to watch” series. Hope you found it useful and will join me in our league. Access codes etc below with the other formats
