SUN DREAM TEAM PLAYER TIPS – TOP TRANSFER TARGETS

Sun Dream Team

Here’s our Sun Dream Team player tips article where we analyse players with the best points per gameweek stats and then look at their future prospects. We then look to pick out players in each position as the best transfer prospects. There’s also a team if I could start again and we look at some cheapies and punts

SUN DREAM TEAM PLAYER TIPS – TOP TRANSFER TARGETS

Remember were halfway through the gameweek so all players are locked until after FA Cup weekend

TOP POINT SCORERS

You’ll see that 5 of the top 9 are strikers and 3 are midfielders.  This shows where you should be investing your cash.  All of them apart from Lukaku, Costa and Hazard are in teams that either are or have been involved in European competitions

TOP PLAYERS BY POINTS PER GAME

Contrary to what it appears to say it is per game not per gameweek which could involve 2 games

Strikers

Out of the above Perez is not a regular starter although he may get gametime in the FA Cup.  Costa, Lukaku and Firmino don’t have additional European football but Firmino will be involved in the 2 legged EFL cup semis.  Ibrahimovic has European football and the EFL cup semis. However he will have his minutes carefully managed so may not get the advantage

Aguero, Lukaku and Kane all look good value.  They have either been suspended in Aguero’s case or had dips in form as per Lukaku and Kane  which has seen.  Lukaku will have a good run of fixtures after the next Man City PL game

Sanchez and Costa who have been on continual good runs look quite fully priced

Midfielders

Forget Diame as he now plays for Newcastle.  Mane is going to AFCON for a few weeks.  Coutinho should be back from injury for the next Sun gameweek

Both Phillips and Snodgrass are good in their set piece involvement but they are now pretty fully priced.  I mean Phillips is quite close to Eriksen yet there is no comparison in terms of prospects.  Pogba is obviously quite liked by the Sun.  He’s expensive but only just coming into form so to be quite highly ranked is some testament

Defenders

Ignore Muniesa as he has injury and gametime issues.

Alonso is a great bet for an attacking player at a decent price.  I think Baines has real potential with penalties set pieces and Evertons good run of fixtures coming up

Goalkeepers

Out of those only consider, Courtois, Lloris or Schmeichel.  The rest are either no longer in the premier league or on borrowed time through the number 1 keeper being injured.  Interestingly GKs have returned much better this year with their returns not being that bad

MY TEAM IF I COULD START AGAIN

Here’s a team if I could start again with a value of around £58.5m which probably isn’t that far off the average serious players value

GK – Stekelenburg (Everton) £1.7m

DEFS

Alonso (Chelsea) £6.8m

Baines (Everton) £4.3m

Jones (Manchester United) £4.2m

Stones (Manchester City) £1.9m

MIDS

Coutinho (Liverpool) £8.6m

Alli (Spurs) £5.1m

Brunt (WBA) £2.2m

STRIKERS

Ibrahimovic (Man Utd) £8.8m

Aguero (Man City) £8.5m

Lukaku (Everton) £6.4m

Stekelneburg and Coutinho should both be back from injury by the next gameweek

SOME CHEAPIES AND PUNTS

Remember they’re cheap and punts for a reason so there is risk with these picks

Mids

Mkhitarayan Man Utd £4.6m

Silva Man City £4.8m
