Sun Dream Team

So the season has ended, and in my case with a bit of a damp squib, rather than a bang. My final total was 1975, and I was 72nd in the FFG league. I don’t know where I finished overall, so if anyone can tell me roughly, I’d be grateful.

Bizarrely, my total this year was over 160 points higher than last year, but my final position far worse. Still can’t quite work out what’s happened different this year to last, unless its the extra transfers that have bumped up the scoring so much.

In the final two windows of the season, I scored nigh on 900 points, so its fairly obvious my start of season wasn’t good enough, and is something I need to improve on next year. However, given I was outside the top 400,000 in December, I’m quite happy to have finished (hopefully) in or around the top 100,000.

Things that went right this year, were definitely defensively, with Bellerin, Clyne and Smalling all scoring really good points, and all in my team from the second Saturday of the season. Aguero, Kane and KDB also scored fantastically after being transferred in. As did Degea, Alderweireld, and Lukaku. Firmino is the one player that really stood out for me though in my transfers. He wasn’t a popular choice, and I saw a lot of comments saying he wasn’t consistent enough, but he was top of scoring and assists for the time I had him in. Goes to show there are players out there you can gamble on.

Things that went wrong this year are to numerous to mention! However, sticking with Silva for to long was definitely one of them. Also, because of my poor start, and then having to look for differential players, it meant that the last few weeks of the season I dropped back quite a bit, as spurs and Everton lost all form, and Liverpool rotated to a ridiculous amount.

In one of the emails dream team sent out last year, there was a survey asking what changes should be made for next season, I filled it in, did anyone else? Personally I’d prefer to go back to how it was a few years ago, with less transfers, only 3 players from any one team, and an overhaul of the scoring system used this year. Some of the star mam awards were just baffling this year, notably Otamendi getting it when Man City beat Villa 4-0!

I hope you’ve found my articles useful this year, and they’ve helped you in some way. I’d like to hear where people finished overall if you have.

Euro dream team starts on Thursday, so get your teams in, and hopefully FFG can guide us to some successful teams. Good luck to anyone who enters.
