The Sun Dream Team doesn’t have an FPL type wildcard but if it did here’s the team that I would start again with plus a little bit of commentary
Sun Dream Team – If I could start my team all over again
Firstly here’s the team and then some commentary below. The commentary is brief but you can see more detail on the articles about the best players for various positions:
Heaton
Given that GKs have traditionally not scored well I’ve gone for the cheapest GK possible and Heaton of Burnley at least has good fixtures to TW2.
Ivanovic
A big gamble and a big price for a team thats performed badly defensively so far and a player that could be rotated with Azpilicueta. However with a good Champions League Group and great attacking potential then I’m rolling the dice
Debuchy
The best value Arsenal defender who have been strong defensively and have 2 good fixtures before TW2 in the Champions League Group
Lovren
There is still questions over their defence but they have good premier league fixtures and a good Champions League Group. Also Liverpool showed far better defence in the win at Spurs. Lovren is a safe pick, has attacking potential and looks good for 7+ points
Dier
A very cheap gamble for the Spurs defence and even if doesn’t keep his premier league spot should hold a Europa League spot. Has some risk if Johnson comes back early and Naughton becomes the favoured RB. Also has some injury risk which needs monitoring.
Ramsey
The most popular player in Sun Dream Team and a box to box player of brilliance. Started the season very strongly.
Sterling
The form midfielder of the moment with great premier league fixtures and Champions League Group.
Lamela
Great value for such a talented player. Probably wont play in the Europa League and a little injury prone though which are the negatives
Aguero
Hasn’t really been fit yat and an ongoing injury risk but one of the most dangerous players in the league. Scores against anyone so difficult fixtures and Champions League Group wo’nt phase him
Sturridge
Has an injury scare which needs monitoring but premier league and Champiuons League group are just too good to ignore from such a consistent player
Costa
Started the season exceptionally well and looks the major threat for Chelsea.
