Sun Dream Team tips – a review of the season so far

The Teams

Firstly lets look at how the FFGeek teams are doing

Team 1

SUN...3.9team1

Points: 164: Overall Rank 132,384/1 million:  Team value £49.7m

Finding your overall rank btw is just a case of looking at the history section on a desk top version of the site.

A reasonable start to the season considering it’s only a few games. Everyone has performed ok although Fonte, Payet and Lukaku have been disasters.  Fonte, Silva and Lukaku have gone down in value

Team 2

sun...3.9team2

Points: 179:  Overall Rank 40,069/1 million est:   Team value £51.6m

This team was set up to increase in value by focusing only on very short term fixtures. It has done that. No one has been a disaster. Terry and Soaure the poorest.  Aguero improved in value by £0.5m.  Only Silva went down in value.

Lessons so far

Lessons Learnt

As a general rule it seems that actively managing your team will bring results. Sun Dream Team’s beauty was the ability to do 3 transfers in the window and just sit back and relax. Now this won’t work. You need to be focused on the extra competitions and lineups for them plus team value. The good thing is that if you are actively managing your team you’re at a big advantage in your mini leagues.  You can find the price changes by going to the information for a player on the desk top version.

The EFL cup

Firstly the newly named EFL cup was a pleasant surprise with alot of teams such as Everton playing strong lineups. Focusing your transfers on players for that competition who are regular starters in the Premier League.  If they also have good fixtures coming up it’s an even better way of using your transfers. Barkley for my both my teams was a definite benificiary

The Europa League and Champions League

The same as the above applies. Save your transfers, wait for the lineups to be announced and see if there are players that can give you good extra fixtures plus gametime security for the PL going forward. Both competitions are more equal than the EFL so choose your transfers carefully

I’m glad to see West Ham out of it after my negative experiences in the Europa League this and last season. The Champions league was a good bonus with Man City easily beating Bucharest.

Team value

So an increase of £1.6m in team value for team 2 over 3 PL games is a pretty serious change so playing for value is definitely worth it. A front 6 with Sanchez, Aguero, Ibrahimovic, Hazard will reward you. So think about dropping players that you think will drop in value. It’s just a case of trying to marry that up with the extra competitions.  You can see how players value has changed by looking at their information by clicking on the player on the desk top version of the site

Monday to Sunday

Monday night is the first day of the week for points. This is crucial in planning your weeks transfers. So remember that you will not be able to transfer a player in or out if that players team has already played in the gameweek

Short term focus

It’s important to know whats going on in the next month and to have some idea of when to use your transfers. We’ll do that in the next part how the fixtures pan out

FFGeek plans

Nothing yet decided but Spurs is a target for me as well as Arsenal where I’m not that well represented.

As sometimes when transfers are decided by lineups then it’s not feasible to do articles given they are only announced an hour before the start of games. The only guarantee is to follow me on twitter where I will always post transfers. I will try and give an early warning earlier in the day as I know it’s hard to pick up
